As the Clan Invasion is upon us, so then is the Omni invasion,
Of course Omni is to be balanced to work, but what non-Omni Battlemechs,

Then i had a thought what if types of mechs could switch their arms,
This would be to hold over IS until they reserve their Omnimechs in 3056,

This would not be an Omni system, it would be replacing the arms of an IS Variant only,
Being only a battlemechs arms, this would be as an External configuration,

Allowing for some basic, Inner Sphere, non-Omni customization,
(development wise, it would be borrowing arms of other Variants only)
(so most models and textures being used already exist, and are within the game)
(also being a tear-down and reconstruction of non-omni design would cost more)

Thoughts, Comments, Concerns,
Thank you, and good luck pilots,

I don't see that as workable, for two reasons.

1. Swapping body parts (and thus hardpoints) is how PGI has chosen to implement OmniMechs. Thus, swapping arms as you suggest is OmniMech technology.

2. JR7-K with F's arms. I won't seek out other examples, because they won't be needed here.
