Hey

People dont really use MC to convert XP to GXP all that much ... and def not on a regular basis.

So what do we do with all the 100's of thousands of XP

I suggest a 3'rd experience path.

Path 1-3 respectively

Set skills you buy (speed tweak etc)
Module unlocks
Chassis familiarisation

This last one should be very very slow. You choose a 'skill' which you then slowly progress from 0% - 100% with.

Like WOT ... some might give you a set bonus on reaching 100% and other give you a graded bonus based on your current %.

The bonus should be minor ... but once you have completed one skill you choose another etc

I'm thinking the skills in Mechcommander 2

LAser specialist ... medium AC specialist ... jump jet specialist.

Your progress should be penalise if chassis does not mount a required item. E.g. if you dont have JJ then how can you gain experience with them,

The skill applies to just that chassis variant.

Personally, I don't see the need to improve any of the mechs capabilities or mech's weapon's capabilities any further than is already possible. Yes, this leads to thousands of wasted experience points on your mech that you've already gotten a mastery in, but can't we just accept that to being you really like using that mech as opposed to trying to give yourself even more of an advantage over someone using it for the first time?

I would like to see some additional "general placement" skills or other abilities which can be gained by XP.

The ability to make a Mech crouch would be one of these, full turret rotation, etc.

I had 2 ideas for a use of the xp that u get after master.

1. you could just code xp to be all converted to gxp at the same rate it is currently gained now , or at a reduced rate. or allow us to convert mech xp to gxp at a cost of 5 to 1 or something.

2. allow us to use mech xp on genral skills for that mech alone.
