Well jumping is a great capability without real disadvantage and with lag or ping shield it could become like a little cheat sometime.

There is two way susceptive to nerf it a little bit....with realistic features.

***First one : When a mech is jumping and firing/shooting, accuracy should be a little bit nerfed like 5% - 10%.***
Example : If you are jumping, i think shooting with a gun it will be more hard than if you stand on the ground and shoot with same gun...

***Second idea : When a mech jumping loses big componant like leg or side torso ( not arms ), it should fall completely on the ground, then raise.***
Example : If you jump and something really wrong happens with your body, you will be not able to stand on ground when you back on yours feet...

It should be funny and realistic ....

This feature Fall/Get up was available on first open beta 2012 PGI already work on it... It was an interesting feature but misapplied... maybe some remember.
With thoses features PGI should reduce a bit damage fall new table... like 5% - 10%.

Thanks for reading that.

loss of limbs or components shouldnt interrupt jump jet thrust... unless the component lost also housed the jets

*edit* Those systems arnt linked.

I think that losing a leg should nearly always result in the mech falling over after a jump manoeuvre unless the pilot is skilled enough to prevent it.

Now that we have the fall damage altimeter, it could be set to a value of anything between 0 and -10ft/s will be a safe landing while -11ft/s plus will result in a fall.

As for falling while losing a limb/torso mid-air, I do not agree.

I think that having some Achievements to go with Jumps would be great. My problem with this post is simple. It seems like everybody is trying to "nerf" the game lately someone, instead of thinking of concepts to build it up.

Well i think adding some achievements didnt really built game's gameplay but nerf or buff should equilibrate game...
Jumping mechs get a really awesome advantage in a game like mwo by lag shield and coze position battlefield is really primordial.
So a little bit nerf when they lose componants while jumping should be considerating as an add for all gamers not a simple malus.

If first idea is already in game i didnt really notice when i use jumping capability but ok don't nerf more ...

About second idea, like trucker said, it should affect only someone who lose an legg while jumping AND when if he lose a legg when landing ( same for non-jumping mechs if they fall and lose a legg ).

Yes I agree. You shouldn't be able to pop-tart as effective as before you had two functioning legs. I mean, how do you land an airplane on just one wheel? Either you should fall over or you should receive some damage to the good leg.
