How you figure that? It's an Omni mech so it's not constrained to energy hardpoints unlike the AWS. It has high mounted arms/hardpoints (quite evident in the pics) unlike the AWS. It's FAR skinnier having a torso profile more similar to the VTR or Summoner while the AWS looks like Santa Claus stumbling across the battlefield. Not to mention there are JJ variants of the Nova Cat, I fail to see where it shares any of the many drawbacks of the AWS.
It would, however, have many of the limitations of an OmniMech, in addition to the limitations implied if PGI is to stick closely to its record sheet specs & aesthetics.
- It's locked into a Clan XL 280 Engine, so the fastest it can ever go is 71.3 kph (with Speed Tweak).
- It's fixed Endo Steel crits fill both legs, the CT, and the Head, so it can't "go zombie" (which is at least one point in favor of the Awesome & its head-mounted laser weapon).
- The jump-capable Nova Cat A carries no weapons in its side-torsos; of the pre-3064 variants, only the Nova Cat B carries side-torso weapons (a single energy hardpoint on each side).
- The only other jump-capable variant, the Nova Cat F, isn't available until 3070.
- The Prime, A, B, and D configs lack Lower Arm Actuators in both arms, while the B config has both a LAA and a Hand Actuator in the Right Arm (which is likely to result in an alternate arm geometry and Victor/Highlander-like behavior when lasers are carried).
- Most depictions of the Nova Cat (see here & here) show the arm-mounted weapons mounted a significant distance below the shoulder joints, in spite of the lack of LAAs; it very likely won't have JagerMech-like "high-mounted" weapons.
- The Nova Cat's characteristic "beer gut" torso design is likely to encompass the CT, giving the 'Mech some of the same issues as the Dragon.
