Summoner chassis with 2 ultra ac 2 in the chest needs a jacket. Also got me 5 kills in one match... It was a rediculously fun build... Probably a fluke... But still... Also ran with 2 erml and 2 ersl. Thoughts?

Meh. I'd rather do 2 ERPPC + 2 ERML + 2 MGs on the Thor.

I was pondering that as a fld build, but kept thinking that the ballistic slots were so high the were wasted. With ballistics that high I was able to hit almost every opposing clan mech in canyon without fear even if they had a height advantage. Those low slung pods had them eating repeated bursts of ac while unable to get their guns to bear.

Dual ultra AC/2 is what I use on my kitfox and it works great making people back off when I chain fire.
For the summoner, I like putting an ultra AC/20 in that high mount torso spot. Great for a quick jump and pelting an enemy with before ducking back down. Its the one feature it has, in my honest opinion, over the Mad Cat.

The Thor looks really fun to play, and woefully underrated. I very much look forward to seeing it available to MC and/or C-bills.
I believe I shall go out of my way to kill Timberwolves with it.

Leave alone my NippleSpam thank you very much..
Also ridicously fun when you can get 3-4 sec of constant firing triggering the Ultra effect without Jam

My thought is that you can do basically the same build with the Timber Wolf, except 2x UAC 5s and 4x cERMLAS.
With 6 tons of ammo, you still have 4 tons left for JJs, Targeting comp or DHS.

Summoner has higher mounts than the timby. Yes, timby is probably more capable, but it lacks.... The need for a coat.

It's true that the Summoner has higher mounts, but my opinion is that the Timber Wolf's torso mounts are "high enough".
Ultimately I'd rather have UAC5s instead of UAC2s + another couple of tons of stuff than slightly higher torso mounts.
Which is unfortunate, because while I own the Summoner I'm unlikely to ever use it.

SMN-D
2LBX5 4 ERML. I have used this mech to some surprising effectiveness. Having the LBX fixes the usual convergence issue of having two weapons on opposite sides from one another, although you can use UAC5 if you want (same tonnage and all). I have ran into fights with guns blazing, jumping over hills and yelling surprise when I land in front of a Sniper (read Meta gaus/PPC mech). The LBX are great for dropping a cored mech (duh) but those ERML pack a good punch (do not forget they are 7 damage each).
Also the LBX5 has a very tight grouping up close and up to about 400m before it starts to spread out beyond the mech, and it stays the size of the CT at about 200m. Overall a great gun and should be used more.
