IS 'mechs are underpowered? What?

My KDR has been climbing day after day since Clan 'mechs were introduced and I don't own a single one of them. I'm doing just fine. Better, in fact. I kind of like not facing pinpoint, front-loaded damage from jumping 'mechs every single drop.

Granted there is the Timbertart... but I don't see those often and for some reason... Oh, that's right, those pesky ERPPCs, they can't fire as often to abuse them.

(I wouldn't cry if jets were removed from the Timber Wolf but whatever, this is a very minor issue.)

Chin up buckaroo, clan mechs will be out before you know it. In fact I think it is two weeks until the first one arrives and then we should get another every two weeks.

To answer the original post, this gives PGI time to work on features without needing to emphasize new mech sales. So they can take people away from designing new mechs and work on maps CW and other things.

To answer the clan OP shenanigans, 3 altases line up under tunnel with the whole pug team behind them in crimson straight. we pile right through and kill every mech on the enemy team. We had 1 timberwolf the enemy had 3 direwolves. Absolute face crushing match, we only lost 2 of the atlases. So no, not so much op, just different.

Well, the reason they charge what they do for mechs is that... people pay. I doubt there is a company in the world that would lower their prices if they didn't have to.

Also... PGI don't set the prices. The publisher does.

Well, let be accurate here. With the exception of the goldies, it's much less that 50 per mech.

the warhawk pack was 240$ for 24 mechs 10$ a mech not even taking into account mech bays, modules, cockpit items, or premium time, it was a hell of a deal.

actually if you do the math for the full package
$240
90 days premium ($45ish value)
24 mech bays ($1-$3 each we will say $1 to be cheap)
24 mechs (3 variants of each)
so even just looking at the mechs you are paying $10 each which isnt horrible when compared to their normal prices
take out the premium time first and you're down to
$195 so about $8.13 a mech now
then take out the mech bay cost
$171 and down to about $7 a mech

i know its still a chunk of change but you have to look at it in a way that makes it feel less like you got used..... showers help but its just never enough.... never enough

Well you can still buy the mechs. You no longer get the other items, I believe.
