I never feel like I dictate the battle so much as when I use NARC, but I get a pittance of C-Bills/XP for it. It seems to be the most influential piece of weaponry/equipment, yet the game incents me to not use it? Why so much of a disconnect between the power to decide a battle and the reward for the pilot using it? When my Jenner has NARC I win a lot more, when my Jenner has SRMs I'm 50/50 win loss, but do much more damage/kills/c-bills/xp.

If I NARC'd a target, I should "NARC assisted damage" proportional to the indirect fire damage the target took and C-bills rewarded appropriately.

Your reward is VICTORY!

And yes, I think the rewards should be much greater than they are.

TAG and NARC share the same bonus and you do get a bonus for it, although it's not a really big bonus or anything.

Using a Narc/Tag combo on my ECM Kitfox, it is horribly low bonus to stick your neck out to help others.
I think the real kicker, is in a good game the spotting bonus pays better then the combined work of Narc and Tag.

Something we should test, combine bap, sensor module and a big targeting computer. Sit back, poke at people with a CERLL and call out targets for people to LRM. I would feel a lot safer at 1000mtrs.

Also, if I manage to land a Narc beacon on an enemy cockpit, that enemy should be blinded for the duration :P.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
No MW(3 or 4) flare cheese! Oh how I used to abhor (except when I was the one doing it lol) getting hit in the cockpit with a flare.

Also, this should play continuously while the Narc is stock to your cockpit:

Every single time I shoot the NARC beacon, I cannot help but think of hockey pucks. They need some sort of thrust animation in a very bad way!

The NARC bonus earned me 12,500 in cBills and 150 XP for barely looking at the enemies I landed it on. I do much better in an ECM + NARC mech (Raven or Commando), especially now that so many clan mechs are sporting LRMs. Of course the map usually makes a bit of a difference.

I used the Jenner simply because it doesn't have an ECM and then got myself hammered to boot to show how possible the earnings were without doing a lot of damage. I can certainly do better.

While a NARC isn't a huge earner in and of itself there's also the spotter bonus you can stack on top and so on. No matter which way you cut the mustard, 12,600 cB and 150 XP is pretty good for landing less than 12 hits and running away.

I think it's because you're supposed to kill stuff to earn cbills. They don't seem to want to reward non-combat tasks too much.
