Managed to save two of them:

Component destruction for days.....

Have had plenty of 1100-1200 games as of late, across several mechs (Stormcrow, Orion, Timber Wolf, Warhawk), but only my Dire Wolf seems to rack up 1300+ games.

We could always save this for another thread - "Most kills with least damage." or to give it a better name "Kill Thief" . . . ;)

You can still rack up a lot of damge hitting CT's but your never going to have perfect accuracy, plus considering that some weapons spread damage, attack angle, range, speeds - lots of factors to take into account but I'd say overall doing high damage is good thing - certainly not 'meaningless'. . .

Priority 1: Hit target.
Priority 2: Hit them were it hurts most.

There was another thread about statistics between IS and Clan mechs. The clans do more damage per kill. Laser duration, PPC arc, AC DOT, etc. It just means that damage figures will be inflated for similar effectiveness in a match for clan mechs. I've had several 1000+ damage matches in IS mechs recently too, but they all use DOT or spread weapons as well. Basically everything that isn't PPC and ballistics. A similarly skilled performance with a pinpoint weapons mech will have much less damage even though it will be more effective.

That being said, these ridiculous damage figures from clan mechs are really fun to achieve and view from others. Crit seeking (Kill stealing) in an Ember provides similar fun, even if actual effectiveness of the performance may be inflated a bit by stats.

This is not a discussion for this thread (also, you definitely can do it in an IS mech, check posts in the 1000+ damage thread), there are billions of threads about Clan and IS tech, we can do that there.

Check out the first page of this post, there's a BNC-3E, JR7-F, STK-M and an AWS-8V already done it for you.

Don't get me wrong Clan Mech's are certainly flavour of the month, I'm not even half way through leveling mine up so my IS mechs will be gathering dust for a while longer. . . .

I've done 1500 in a 3E (pre-nerf), and i've seen someone do 1800 in one. My point is that you don't see an IS mech go above 1k as often as a clan mech, but someone >always< does over 1k in a twolf/papa wolf. Hell, if I don't lose, I'm always above 1k in a DW.

Clans have added a new dynamic but IS mechs can still rock - you are seeing a lot of high damage Clan Mechs because every one who has one is rolling with them at the minute and posting their stats; Check out the post whats ur highest Match Score to see some great IS damaging mech action

I wouldn't say its easier to score higher damage simply because its Clan - don't get me wrong it's easier to customise a Clan mech to your style of play with having the advantage over IS mechs of swapping limbs around etc well maybe this is an advantage but skill plays the biggest part.

Ahem, errr that's not my game chief. . . . I wish it was but I 'borrowed' it off the 'Highest Score' thread as an example of an IS Mech doing a sh!t load of damage. . . . still impressive and I expect those weapons weren't ever cool from the start!
