Figure this would be a good place for us to share our custom designs (unless it belongs in the Table Top sub-forum, if so a mod can move it). Just a couple of rules;

Design must be complete and legal, with fluff for at the least the Overview, Capabilities, and Deployment.

I'll start.

Devastator IIC

Mass: 100 tons
Tech Base: Clan

Armament:
3 Type XX ER PPCs
2 EMRG "Galaxy" Series Gauss Rifles
Manufacturer: Olivetti Weapons
Primary Factory: Sudeten
Communications System: Johnston Wide Band
Targeting and Tracking System: Rander Pinpoint-HY

Overview:
In the aftemath of their excursion into the Lyran Alliance and the subsequent
counter-invasion by the LAAF into the Jade Falcon Occupation Zone in 3064, Clan
Jade Falcon obtained thousands of tons of Inner Sphere 'Mechs and equipment as
salvage. Though a conservative Crusade Clan, the Jade Falcon Khan Marthe Pryde
realized her Touman, battered after waging brutal back-to-back campaigns,
needed to utilize every asset available - including fielding captured Inner
Sphere 'Mechs.

In the aftermath of Operation Audacity, Clan technicians managed to salvage
almost a battalion's worth of one BattleMech chassis in particular - the DVS-2
Devastator - a Star League 'Mech said to be designed by Aleksandr Kerensky
himself, in varying condition from fallen LAAF forces and from the now defunct
Storm's Metal Thunder mercenary command.

Seeing potential in the Devastator after observing its effectiveness in combat,
Khan Marthe Pryde ordered Jade Falcon technicians to piece together a Clan
version of the 'Mech, heeding Clan doctrine to minimize as much waste as
possible, she ordered technicians and engineers to use as much of the original
salvaged chassis as possible to marginalize the resources and time needed to
design a new BattleMech.

Though the first run of Devastator IIC's employ several subsystems produced in
the Inner Sphere, the Jade Falcons have already begun tooling a production line
for support components such as communication and sensor gear on Sudeten to
ensure they can continue the manufacture of Devastator IIC's even after their
surplus salvage runs out.

Capabilities:
The Falcon techs devised a method of converting Inner Sphere 300 extra-light
fusion reactors salvaged en masse from the Metal Thunder Devastators and the
Marauders and Marauder II's of the late Barber's Marauder IIs on Koniz to work
in conjunction with Clan 'Mechs. By retrofitting Inner Sphere reactors to Clan
specifications took a fraction of the resources and time it would take to build a
Clan reactor, allowing the Devastator IIC to be built and fielded quickly.

The Jade Falcon engineers rebuilt several salvaged Devastators from the
ground up to gain complete working knowledge on the ins-and-outs of the
structure, developing blue-prints required to reproduce the 'Mech at a new
manufacturing site on Sudeten. The first examples of the Devastator IIC are
powered by the retrofitted Inner Sphere reactors reverse-engineered at a
facility on Sudeten, though later production runs Devastator IIC's will be
built with Clan fusion reactors as the supply of salvaged engines runs out.

Superior Clan technology replaces the already-formidable Spheroid weapon
systems; the Devastator IIC maintains a similar offensive weapons package as
the original DVS-2, with an exception of lacking the medium lasers of the Inner
Sphere 'Mech. As Clan particle projection cannons have superior capacitors and
lack the minimum range of their lower-tech Inner Sphere counterparts, the lasers
were deemed unnecessary and replaced with a third ER PPC. The additional
particle cannon allows the Devastator IIC nearly the same amount of firepower as the
brace of lasers, but concentrated in one package with a longer range profile.

The Clan Devastator IIC has almost an over-abundance of firepower it can bestow
upon an enemy; rare is a 'Mech - Clan or Inner Sphere - that can weather
through a broadside from so many heavy weapons let loose in one salvo at
extreme ranges. To ensure the Devastator IIC can maintain its devastating
firepower upon the enemy for extended periods, Falcon engineers installed
additional double heat sinks to aid in the additional heat generated by the
third extended-ranged particle projector.

Deployment:
As OmniMechs are short due to losses from the Refusal War, Coventry campaign,
and frequent border skirmishes with the Lyran Alliance and Wolf Clan, the first
Devastator IIC's have been posted in front-line assault clusters along side
OmniMechs such as the Dire Wolf and Turkina. Though the Devastator IIC is an
extremely capable assault 'Mech by any standard, many Jade Falcon warriors look
at it as an abomination combination of Clan and Spheroid technology and being
billeted to a Devastator IIC is looked upon as a dishonor by Trueborns.

However, as Devastator IIC's begins to trickle into second-line formations, it
is gaining increased popularity amongst freebirth and older warriors past their
prime, a fact that angers the Trueborns assigned to pilot the 'Mech even more.

Notable 'Mechs & MechWarriors:
Star Commander Milko Buhallin - Earning his trial by fire in the 3058 invasion
of Coventry, Star Commander Milko Buhallin was considered a ristar and
successfully became one of the youngest Jade Falcon warriors to earn a
Bloodname - however during the fighting on Machida, Milko Buhallin had his
Turkina shot from under him and was the only member of his Star to survive the
battle. Quickly being reassigned to a Night Gyr and ordered to one of saKhan
Samantha Clees' clusters in response to Operation Audacity, Milko Buhallin was
dishonored again when his entire Star was destroyed during fighting on
Blackjack, his own Night Gyr destroyed by a Devastator from the Fourteenth
Donegal Guard. To add insult to injury, the former ristar was assigned to pilot
a Devastator IIC, as he is deemed too incompetent to trust yet another OmniMech
with.

Star Captain Jefferton - Commanding a garrison trinary on LaGrave, a planet on
the Jade Falcon/Wolf OZ border, Star Captain Jefferton was assigned to a
Devastator IIC shortly before the Wolves engaged in their campaign into the
Jade Falcon OZ in early 3065. The fighting on LaGrave was some of the most
intense during the Wolf invasion, and Star Captain Jefferton and his Devastator
IIC were credited with several kills, mostly OmniMechs, and he and his
Devastator IIC have become somewhat celebrities amongst the freebirth warriors
of Clan Jade Falcon.

Well, that sure looks like an original concept, tri-PPC/twin-Gauss. :)
Also, given the topic title, I was rather expecting TT-stats for 'Mechs that will appear in MWO.
Rather than munchkinism.

I picked the DVS-IIC to post up first because of the fluff I wrote for it - its always been one of my favorite designs I've made because of it. As for 'Mechs to appear in MWO - well, since we aren't sure if there will be customization or the limits of it, it'd be sort of a wild guess to what would show up - though a PPC/Gauss boat probably wouldn't be too out of the norm in MWO if full customization is allowed, eh?

Chose the thread title TRO: MWO as its a compilation of designs from players of MWO - so I'll continue this thread with a less munchy design (Something level 1 perhaps) once I get home and can access my armory archives on Solaris7.com;

Not to belittle this or anything, but starting this thread by posting a 3064 design...

when it has been stated by PGI that the game will start at 3048 made me chuckle a bit. <_<

3 PPC/2 Gauss...oh now I know why you went with clan tech.
Minimum Ranges are such a hassle aren't they? <_<
Problem with most custom designs...the munchkinism. I'd rather
take the firepower loss and make a balanced lance, than field
1 or 2 'uber' mechs.

See, I'd rather pair 1 or 2 PPCs with things like an A\C10 or LA\C5
with precision ammo, on a chassis that runs 5/8 and maybe jump jets.

I didn't mean 'Mechs that would appear in the game, I meant a TRO made by the MWO community.

2 Magna Mk III/Defiance B3L Large Lasers
Manufacturer: GM Industries/Norse-Storm Technologies Inc
Primary Factory: Kathil/Solaris VII
Communications System: Dalban HiRez-D
Targeting and Tracking System: Federated Hunter

Overview:
Known for their preference for autocannons, House Davion put out a bid to firms
in the Federated Suns to draft a new assault 'Mech that used heavy caliber
versions of their favorite weapon to deadly extent. GM Industries, producers of
the famed Marauder answered the call with a 95-ton assault 'Mech based on the
Norse-GM HeavyTRQ chassis - the same chassis as the Nightstar, a high-tech Star
League-era 'mech that GM no longer had the technical means to produce.

Structural plans for the 'mech were finalized in 3005, and the 'mech underwent
a series of intense and realistic trials before it was accepted by the AFFS and
put into placed into full production status at the conclusion of 3007. The
simulations proved that though untested in real combat, the new chassis easily
was able to match, and dominate any opposition of the same weight class. From
its domination of all of its opposition in combat tests, the new 'mech was
christined the DM-3R Dominator.

After the Federated Commonwealth alliance following the marriage of Hanse
Davion and Melissa Steiner in 3028, a Lyran firm, Norse-Storm Industries - the
same firm that originally cooperated with GM to build the Nightstar centuries
ago - was allowed licensing of the Dominator's blueprints. Recognizing that
the Dominator fit their combat doctrine perfectly, the Lyrans wasted no time
and quickly began to produce Dominators in mass quantities from Norse-Storm's
production line on Solaris VII.

Capabilities:
As the design specifications outlined by the AFFS called for an assault 'mech
armed with heavy autocannons, the Dominator features two large-caliber
autocannons - one a class-10, the other a class-20 which provide the Dominator
with a brutal one-two punch. The longer range Federated AC/10 (Lyran-produced
Dominators make use of a Defiance 'Mech Hunter autocannon) is used primarily in
conjunction with the twin Magna III Large lasers (Norse-Storm uses Defiance-made
B3L lasers) mounted in the Dominator's arms to soften up an enemy
until it reaches suitable range to open up with the massive large-bore,
short-barreled Luxor Devastator Class-20 autocannon nestled in the Dominator's
left shoulder.

The Federated Autocannon is the same used by the Enforcer, and engineers at GM
have overcome the jamming issue that plagued the Enforcer by mounting the
cannon in the torso and reworking the ammunition feed system. The Dominator
also overcomes one of the Federated Autocannons largest shortcoming - a
decisive lack of ammunition - by utilizing an ammunition clip twice as large
containing twenty rounds instead of ten that is still as easy for tech crews to
reload as the entire magazine is removed and replaced at once.

Though only effective primarily at shorter ranges, the Luxor Devastator
(Norse-Storm produced Dominators utilize a Defiance 'Mech Killer autocannon)
can devastate even the heaviest of armor and can even sever limbs clean off of
lighter 'Mechs with a single direct hit. The brutal large-bore cannon creates
an inferno of excess heat putting a dangerous burden on the Dominator's heat
dissipation systems - especially when fired in conjunction with the Dominator's
large lasers. To ensure the Dominator can accurately engage targets, the
autocannons and lasers are tied to a Federated Hunter computer, famed for
providing the Enforcer deadly accuracy. As the Dominator features a similar
weapons loadout as the Enforcer, the Federated Hunter suite was a natural
choice for engineers when selecting the Dominator's targeting and tracking
system.

The Dominator is powered by a 285-rated fusion engine, it can comfortably
cruise at speeds of up to 35 kp/h and can push itself to run at speeds of 55
kp/h. This gives the Dominator a comparable movement profile to an average
'Mech of its weight class. Seventeen tons of Kallon Royalstar armor make the
Dominator a hard shell to crack. The plating is well distributed amongst the
Dominator's chassis, making the Dominator one of the most heavily armored
'Mechs on the battlefield.

Deployment:
The DM-3R Dominator has been produced in large numbers by GM of Kathil since
3007. Regarded a high-value design by the state, units were ordered to destroy
any fallen Dominators in place to deny the enemy the ability to salvage one. In
one battle during operations in the Fourth Succession War, two Davion
aerofighters managed to destroy an entire company of Capellan 'mechs that were
desperately trying to capture a disabled DM-3R.

Due to the extreme security surrounding the Dominator, it remained exclusive to
the AFFS until the 3028 Norse-Storm licensing deal. After Norse-Storm's lines
were completed in 3030, the Dominator soon became a common sight on both sides
of the Federated Commonwealth. The Davion units concentrated their Dominators
in units such as the Kathil Uhlans and Davion Guard RCTs, as its heavy
firepower and high resilience fit their combat doctrine. The Lyrans have
enjoyed using the Dominator in any role possible, including recon.

Variants:
Upon recieving the license to produce the Dominator, Norse-Storm developed
their own variant of the 'Mech that highlighted the Lyran combat doctrine of
overwhelming firepower. The DM-3S removes the class-10 autocannon and replaces
it with a second Defiance 'Mech-Killer AC/20. The large lasers are also
removed, with a trio of TIC-linked medium lasers replacing them in each arm.
Though lacking any sort of ranged firepower, the DM-3S variant has proven to be
a brutal in-fighter, and has become popular in the Solaris VII dueling circuit.
