Did they herp and derp on these subjects as hard as we all feared?
What is the next clan mech?
Fine tuning of what, exactly?
And when are the IS vs Clan events coming? Please tell me they will be more than just "drop in your IS or Clan mech and we'll award the top players for each chassis, in each category, with a special reward for those who are on the side that wins overall".
Not that I'd OBJECT to that, but I wouldn't mind, say... a special queue or something where you get placed in IS vs Clan teams.

Well this sounds promising, assuming the industrial map is more of an Urbanmech's paradise than another HPG map where the major parts of the map are all LRM invincibility zones where an entire team can hide and just focus down any enemies that dare challenge them.

Based on the release schedule I get the feeling that we may not get MOAR MECHS, MOAR TECH, MOAR DAKKA before CW after all . OTOH we will have the worst aspects of the internet gaming community banding together to drool over some numbers.
"Oh boy, we won 13 more matches than Clan Purple Tree Badger! We got this planet, as represented by this number on this chart! -.0001% to pulse laser purchases, plus strutting rights on the forums!"

Though we will get an Inner Sphere mech before another Clan mech though.
Wait a bit and I'll quote the podcast (right now it seems to be buggy for me for some reason)

For the record, it has be 1.5 months (6 weeks) that no PGI event has occurred (and I'm excluding sales and PTS from that statistic).
So, right now everything is pretty much static.

Phil: I have a question for you Russ, and this is a serious question. When.... Will I get.... my Shadow. Cat? Whe-When is that happening? When is, or is there an idea, or do you wanna sneak peek to the people in the live audience, cause they're here for you, listening to you right now, the next clan mech, or mechs, or package. Which honestly I was actually quite suprised that there hasn't been a reinforcement pack persay like the phoenix you know.
Bombadill: Everybody wants to know when the Mad Dog is coming, yes.
Phil: The Mad Dog, and uh.... Hellbringer, and actually I wanna see mechs we haven't seen for the clan side in a previous mechwarrior title, or haven't seen them since Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries. Do you have any thoughts, words, descriptions?
Russ: Welp, no (combined laughter) not really. Nothing I'm going to toss out here today other than I'm gonna give a little love to the Inner Sphere players and just say that the new chassis is an Inner Sphere chassis. So, that's that. As far as clans are concerned, I will say though it's quite obvious which ones the next ones will be. There's no question that, for instance, the Mad Dog / what do you call it again?
Phil: Vulture
Russ: Thank you. Is an obvious choice. It's a favorite of mine. I think it looks great. It's like the new Archer, right, it's so cool. Um, and the uh Hellbringer because of obvious reasons, because it fits a tonnage slot we don't have for clans yet and basically is, is just it uses the Summoner legs and there's a lot of reuse there and it's effective for us. And then it starts getting into some of the other ones you mentioned. Shadow Hawk (yes, he accidently said that) and everything I do find it interesting though you mentioned um.
Phil: Ice Ferret
Russ: Yeah I guess what do you call it?
Phil: Shadow cat
Russ: The reinforcement pack, I can say in all honesty, we are not creating a reinforcement pack right now, we have not considered one yet. I think a lot of people expected that we did, and that it was like the way we roll. There's nothing but like captilizing as much cash as possible. That, it hasn't even been a consideration for us at this point, but, you know, if that's what people want, um, that's I'm interested in hearing that kind of stuff.
Phil: Well I mean I guess the question is, uhm, we see the timeline of the release of the current clan mechs right? That's on a website, and if you haven't checked it out uh we've been passing that around on the stream as well. Um, I guess the question the question is uh maybe a timetable too of when is the next IS mech being released? and uh actually I think you've already mentioned that already in one of your tweets. What the, the next uh IS chassis WILL be. Um, when you know, What kind of time frames are looking for the clans or is there no new clan mech going to be released until , you know, the these initial clan packs.
Russ: Yeah I just don't know that right now. Meaning there's no plans to also wait until all of those have been released. No nothing like that. Um, so, I would say those chance are good. That we'll see a new clan mech prior to that. Although when the last one come out, I don't have that, that schedule memorized. Is it October? The last ones? So yeah, I think we'll probably see, see something before that. Um, yeah sorry that's as accurate I can be right now.
Phil: Welp, like I said um, you guys surprised me quite a bit, early on when you guys were coming out with a chassis that I did not expect. Quickdraw, Trebuchet, I mean you guys, sort of hit me with a left because I wasn't expecting those. I mean those weren't your, you know goto what you saw in Mech 4, Mech 3 and stuff. So anyways, continue that, let's see some new chassis we've never seen before and/or we only read about in the novels. (then swaps the subject to matchmaker)
I will now continue to worry about which variants, design, and other stuff they'll use when it comes to the Mad Dog.
I'm hoping for classic design (MW4 design makes the Mad Dog lose it's uniqueness, and doesn't look as good imo) with A + C variants for maximum customization (there's not much customization to begin with for the Mad Dog), and so B doesn't outclass the Prime in hardpoints and have to rely on quirks to balance B/Prime variants....
Though, I wouldn't mind them having a variant that references the MW4 version (especially if classic model is chosen) by having 2 Energy in the CT, 2 Missle for each side torso, and 1 energy for each arm. If there wasn't a variant like that, an omnipod for 1M 1E for each side torso would also be nice. Overall I'm not a huge fan of MW4's Vulture (I grew up on MW2), but I know there are some people who grew up with MW4 and never played any of the older games.

So much a favorite he never learned its name
Mad Dog / Vulture : Sometimes Russ I think you only love me for my shoulders...

I will admit, took me a while to remember that the Adder is also called the Puma, since I never hear anyone call it the Puma. *cue red vs blue clip about calling the warthog a puma* "stop making up names!"
Though I did think it was kinda interesting how he referenced the Archer. When I first saw the Archer, I immediately thought of the Dragon. While I do like the looks of the Archer a bit, it's too bulky for my tastes, though it's design isn't always consistent looking at the pictures on sarna. I can see how he can call the Mad Dog a new version of the Archer

The only variants buildable with tech in-game are the A, B and F. So this may be the first Omni without its Prime config in-game. Thankfully so, because if the Prime didn't have A-Pods, we'd have to deal with the first Heavy ECM mech.

I find it more likely that they'll replace the A-Pods with Heatsinks. Afterall, they both take 2 slots and weigh only 1 ton. I'd be very very surprised if they didn't use the Prime variant and used the alt configs instead on any mech. Or they could add in a 2 ton targeting computer, afterall it apparently takes no slots and weighs nothing originally (and was in the Left Torso).

Why is that thankfully so?? That would be awesome. Besides they will probably just drop the A-Pods

Seriously? No, man, they'll keep the A-pods....it takes up slots and tonnage and is useless. It'll be the new "Command Console," since they actually gave it a function now.
