Honestly there is no downside to havin this implemented into the game. Many games have this function or something similar. WoT, almost all the Battlefield games, hell I even think Call of duty has it. Mind you I'm talking more about the radial menu for the commander.

This idea again has no downside. Either players will listen to the orders or not. Ive been in many games where someone has taken command and everyone listened. Majority of the time we won.

This is not only to be a minor aid for the vets. It is a hige aid for new players to take direction from someone who knows better. After awhile those new bloods will get a better understanding on when to do certian actions without being told. Which in turn makes them better.

Havin comunication gets everyone on the same page for the most part which is never a bad thing.

I know people would like to see pgi add other things which is fine, we all agree we want to see more maps and content. I'm not arguing that but having a constant flow of ideas for the devs to pick at allows for a constant flow of new ideas. Maybe something they never thought of.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea, I just don't see it as a big problem (for me).
I just find and meet up with the leader at the beginning of the game before contact is made with the enemy.
Easy to do all maps except tourmaline with the spaced out spawns if you are in an assault mech.

Plus it could make the leader a big target for trolls, like Gold Clan mechs. It may discourage people taking command.

Plus I think there are higher priorities for resources.

While I understand completely where you are coming from, in this case I would have to say that this bit of a UI change would be beneficial for both newcomers and veterans alike. I too place value in keeping some things more complex in order to separate the skill levels, however, I believe this aims at something outside of that. I appreciate your point of view.
I for one would +1 this OP recommendation and hope that this can be implemented.

PGI needs to do this.

It would be interesting and helpfull to see it tactically on the field.

Now it is limited to the info on the lance screen. Having it on the field, above the mech itself would be more usefull indeed.

Would definitely be a useful addition to the game.

This would definitely be useful. May even encourage people to move together in a lance. Of course, if the lance gets wiped out, they can always blame it on the lance commander :)

I understand the topic very clearly
Where I would simply press Q to find the leader, walk to them before enemy contact is made, and then stay with them, defend and shoot what they shoot for the rest of the game, you you like the leaders cevron to be a different colour.

I never said it wasn't usefull, My opinion is that its not that important. And you know what they say about opinions. :)

It would make selecting lance commander actually matter. I almost never see lance commanders in a match just company commanders. Make this happen please PGI!

It's not a matter of what you think pgi is capable of or should put their effort in to. Any improvement should be considered. Just because there are more pressing issues does not mean simple changes or improvements should be ignored outright. Acknowledged and scheduled appropriately, yes, even if it takes a little while to get to it. But as long as it is on their radar and gets done...

It also does not matter if someone does not mind things the way they are or if vets don't need something changed. This comes down to ease of use and functionality of the ui. It goes along with other map, iff, and command info changes such as a non-rotating minimap and standard or text command icons (instead of always changing) that would make the game friendlier for everyone while retaining the complexity that we want.

I think its lazy mode, the little details is what differentiates the elite from the not so.
PS: Not that I'm elite or any thing,
Skill should be16 bit (65000 levels of skill) not 2 bit (4 levels of skill).
If u get my drift.

Making things harder for the sake of making them harder is nonsenical. It's an easy technology that has a great benefit. You can't argue that if this technology actually existed that it wouldn't be in use.

By your logic we shouldn't have night vision, heat vision, or zoom...
