lol Yeah and it has nothing to do with weapon range and everything to do with charging into a group of mechs.

Well, in order to do any brawling you do have to get close. With the amount of long ranged weapons, how fast they shoot and pin point accuracy it is just hard to cover that distance. What do you see noobs do in their (C) mechs? They run right in there and get mowed down. Any time you get more than one mech targeting you, chances are you are dead. Especially if they have line of sight on you.

Either one or the other.

Get rid of Fall Off (not likely) or give LRM's Fall Off.

LRM fall off would be the missiles running out of fuel, but would continue onto target (gliding), anything over 1k would deal 1/2 damage instead of full damage.

So max range of 2k but they would deal 1/2 damage to anything over 1k, consider the fuel being used as "extra damage" when under 1k.

LRMs do feel woefully inadequate in there LONG range job, they feel more like a Medium range weapon, it gets worse on the bigger maps like Alpine. Since most TRUE LRM mechs do not have a very fast eng, they spend most of there games just hoping to get in range, rather then actually helping the team/teammate out that is 1300 away.

I like to lrm boat, however the only change I would currently make to lrms are not to lrms but to tag. I would like tag range extended to 1000m so I can tag anything in range of my missles.

I don't find it hard to get close. I also don't run into a group of enemy mechs either though. I know that to brawl means waiting until either there are some casualties or others on my team get into close range too. The only mech i ever go off by myself in is my JM6-S as i know i can take on multiple enemy solo.

The only way to make brawling viable from the start of a match is to somehow find a way to split up the enemy enough, which is exactly the opposite of what players do....if they have sense.

I know many people want to brawl more but tbh you're talking about a style of warfare that died out due to being beaten by tactics. As long as there are players using tactics brawling will be difficult.

It probably wouldn't matter if LRMs had infinite range. Any LRMs fired beyond 400-500 meters aren't likely to hit, though they're occasionally useful out to ~800 meters.

If you fired LRMs at 2000 meters you'd just be sending up a signal flare.

But to bring them in line with the range buffs that other weapons received, a bump out to 1200-1250 meters would be fair. Pointless, but fair.
