Ok, I love my G602. A few points.
- Easy to configure for the game, and switches in and out of the game easily. It's a little trickier for Mechwarrior as you need to bind it to the game and not the launcher, but easy enough. Heck, you can reprogram the DPI adjustment buttons if you find you don't need them.
- Comfortable. I had general use down in minutes, and more specialized use came pretty quickly afterwards. It fits my hand well, and other than wanting it to be a bit lighter (though I did take out 1 of the batteries, which helped), it's nice and comfortable for me to use.
- Accurate - Amazingly accurate at high and low DPI
- Adjustable - Not only is it easy to adjust the DPI on the fly, you can program what DPIs you hit at 50 increments, setting up up to 5 different settings. You can also book mark one for a quick change to that specific one.
- Endurance mode hasn't had the battery show as being drained at all yet, and I accidently gamed with it on and didn't notice much of a difference. Performance mode helps precision for games, but Endurance mode works just great most of the time.
- Buttons register - As I mentioned, I had issues with multiple buttons registering on other wireless mice. Not so with this one.
I snagged 2 SteelSeries QcK mats on the cheep to replace my smaller cloth mousepad, and they've added some extra fine precision registration as well (I grabbed one for work, since they were so cheep).
Overall, I'd highly recommend the G602. I've got mine setup with 4 DPI settings (2500, 2000, 1500, and 1000, with 2000 being the default), and the thumb buttons set as weapon groups 3-6 and consumable 1 and 2. Biggest issue I've had is adjusting to using scroll to zoom and mouse button 3 to advanced zoom, but that's a change due to an old habit.
Overall, it's a great gaming mouse, that's also useful for non-gaming tasks, and is easy to configure and play with.
On a side note, I said I'd review the other mouse I got, the Perrix Perimice-714, billed as an 8 button gaming mouse, though I didn't get it for that.
It's comfortable, particularly for my big hands. Materials are pleasant to the touch, and it's only slightly heavier than I might like (though it's ligher than the G602). It slides amazingly well on almost any surface (better than the G602 actually, particularly once I took off the protective plastic coating on the bottom of the pads). The mouse seems to register just fine, and I find myself using it at the middle of the 3 DPI settings (1600 I think?). It registers well on many different surfaces, and the buttons are all easy to press other than maybe the DPI adjustment button (which is about an inch below the scroll wheel). It does have a button pressing issue, were the Back mouse button only allows for 1 other button press to register, or otherwise it only registers 3 button presses at a time, so it has limits as a gaming mouse. Also, it's not programmable without 3rd party software, and the 2 extra top mouse buttons are non-programmable and configured strangely (A home page button on a browser, and a triple left click button). Overall it's an average mouse, good for office work, OK for gaming on the cheep if you need something wireless.
