Maybe it's just me
But I really do miss the old arm lock, I had it on by default and held down the key for fine aiming
similar to breathing mechanics in other games.
Does anybody else play that way?
I don't know if I'm weird or not but has anybody found a way to get the old style to work?

It's not just you. I would prefer the old "hold" method as well.
Perhaps PGI can give us two keybinds: one for hold and one for toggle.
The real problem with arm lock is not actually the arm lock itself but rather that the arm crosshair (the circle) is relatively tiny and hard to distinguish.

You know what I miss about the old arm lock / arm swing mechanic?
Back in CB, if you used free look, you could swing your Centurions arm shield up and down and use it as a proper shield to block more shots.
Shame how many little things like that died as pgi "attempted" to improve the game.
Oh, you mean the toggle on/off. Meh. PGI should have set it as an option for it to be either toggle or hold. But hey, oversight is one of PGI strongest suits.

I still cry for my knockdowns.
My personal favorite was getting caught out by a brawler Atlas in a LRM Cat so I went vertical to get out of the arc of the AC and he didn't stop in time. Boom, he fell down, I GTFO'd while my team nuked the marauding Atlas into scrap.
Actually that wouldn't work anymore either, I'd need to see him at 400yards to get high enough.

I also prefer the old hold method for locking.
Can we have an option for either or?
