interesting, all my transplanted friends from Maine (wait, both, not "all") use plural salutations... must be why they moved down south.
Anyhoo, welcome! Hope you enjoy this game & community... well.. the game at least.
(Nah, we got some good folks on here. Got some jerky ones too, but thats true anywhere, ratio seems to be slanted in the direction of "Good Folks" here though.)

Welcome. Do note that this game is purely pvp style and has a steep learning curve as you are pitted against other players, some (or most) of which are experienced. Just try to have fun and you'll get good in time. If you want to join a group look around the sub-forums, we have houses, mercs and the clans around. Or, you could just go free and easy, just like me

Matt... I've been playing for about two months now myself. I've found the community here friendly and helpful. If you enjoyed MechWarrior in the past, you'll have a blast here! You will be surprised how much you can learn by observing others play the game (while you're playing of course ;-)
Have fun and don't worry about dying, cause it's going to happen
My only advice would be to stay close to the largest group and help as you can (depending on the Mech you are piloting). You will learn a little more with each battle and become more comfortable in your Mech as you go.
This forum, "NEW PLAYER HELP", is a great source of information. And if you don't see what you are looking for, just ask. My bet is you will have an answer within the hour (if not within minutes).
Again, welcome, have fun, and Happy Hunting

Welcome aboard, you have found the right place to ask questions (with hopefully a minimum of "background noise")
