I think that a "slot doubler" would be a module that people might pay real money for. The idea is, each mech has x number of module spaces available to it. One module could be a "slot doubler".
What the slot doubler would do is fit in one equipment slot of a mech thus turning one slot into two. This may not fit into any lore but, mechanically speaking it could work. And, it is possible to consider using all module slots to add an equal number of equipment slot doublers to a mech.
It's an idea.
