I know it's been said before that these trial mech's in our mech bay are an eyesore and should be removed. It doesn't look like they are being removed but are rather multiplying rapidly. How about a compromise PGI:

When a person buys a trial mech for Cbills or MC, that trial mech should be OBLITERATED off the face of the mech-bay, never to be seen again!!!!!!!!!!!

Think carefully about this PGI.. this suggestion offers ADDITIONAL incentive for gamers to purchase mechs by knowing the trial mech equivalent will be removed from their mech-bay! Besides, having a trial mech show up when it is already owned is a waste of space, doesn't make sense and ruins the user experience.

Anyone support this idea or have suggestions to make it bettter?

People asked for the owned filter simply to show only what they own which made sense to me a PGI staff member responded simply arguing semantics about what constituted owned. Here's the thread:

http://mwomercs.com/...shown-as-owned/

I'm not sure of their logic i mean i can go outside and use the sidewalk but i don't own the sidewalk to declare so would be fairly ridiculous.

My ideal solution would be to have them listed and selectable from the home tab. A nice and easy place for a new player to see where they are and leaves them with an empty mechlab which gives you more incentive to begin filling it up.

But there is no compromise with your solution. PGI wants you to see those mechs. With a filter, trial mechs will never see the light of day.

I offer a compromise.. if I buy the trial mech, wipe it off my mech-bay!

So your idea is to basically have everbody who doesn't like the trial-champions buy all the trial champions (wich would weigh in somewhere in the 30000mc I reckon, about 130$) so they don't show up with a "BUY" in their mechbay anymore but instead have a "CONFIGURE" under them.

How does that makes ANY sense ?

Easy compromise: check box in the options "HIDE TRIAL MECHS"
New players see them by default (box greyed out until their cadet bonus is over) and might buy them, older players aren't bothered anymore.

My solution mentions no filter?

Thanks for the reply!

Well for the same reason 'free' apps are free, because of the adverts, MWO is free and wants to advertise its wares. They aren't going away, they are only multiplying. Just because you are an old player doesn't mean they don't want you to keep buying stuff. In fact, if you ARE an old player, you should already OWN many of the trial mechs. Do you see how my solution makes sense?

So again I ask, what is wrong with my compromise solution IronWithin?

Yes. Hiding trial mechs under a user selectable tab is the same as having a filter and filtering them out of your screen. What's the difference?

They are currently already under a user selectable tab so by your line of thinking they are already hidden you really don't make a great deal of sense.

I hate to rain on your parade, but if you do this they will just systematically cycle trial mechs over time. Are you willing to eventually buy EVERY mech as a solution? I'm not.
