Agreed with the OP. Premium mechs should have premium options. Hero mechs, Prime mechs and "Gold" mechs have less options than regular mechs. Why would you want to limit the camo options of these mechs? You are punishing your biggest supporters!

Lol...oh, the humanity!

Seriously, you got ALL the Mechs with your Gold package...go change their colors. Let your Gold be...erm, Gold! "But I want to play it without the commentary." So...play one of the other variants and put the exact...same...loadout on it via omnipods.

Punished...give me a break...

Shouldn't this be taken up with customer support?
Maybe it's because I've been here for a little while but I wouldn't expect to change the color of a ultra special edition mech.

No... Why should they spend even one minute on doing this... You bought a gold mech... You got a gold mech... You also got 1 mech you can change the paint on and two mechs you can color and camo any way you like... of EACH model.

So no.... Not a single minute should be spent on this that could be better spent on maps or other art assets.

Sorry... But that is my opinion.

CS takes time out of mech, map and CW work to help out customers?

I kind of agree with the OP here -- why not allow for customization of the mech? Its not like its going to cost them anything to do it, the base code is already there; all they have to do is enable it for the mech types it is not allowed for currently.

Fine by me. I don't see why anyone would object to the fact that gold mech owners could change the colour of their mech. You gave PGI more money than most players have given in their history of playing this game, so I don't mind if some PGI dev spends 2 minutes to click the button that allows you to change camo. If it's that easy, that is. And I have no reason to think it would be very complicated.

Very weird that people have a problem with this. Now, I was rather disgusted that PGI sold Gold Mechs in the first place. But that's a separate issue.

Come to think of it, I think a lot of people were really upset when people could change the colours of their hero mechs as well, which was impossible in early 2013. Of all the things in the world to be upset about...

For the record, Trolol, I don't own a gold mech but I do own heroes. Hero camos should be able to be switched out as well. Who really cares what camo people use other than the owner of the mech?

So...if you take the arms off of your 'gold' mech, can you put those arms on another chassis...and have them remain gold? Then you could name your 'mech "Jax."

To be fair... I thought it did imply the Mech would ALWAYS be that color.

And if the douche' bags in game would just leave well enough alone, then GOLD would not be as much an issue surely. The OP is apparently tired of the BS the GOLD seems to garner, and for good reason. Those who deem them excessive, for their own selfish reasons, just need to get a real life, or job. Pick one ffs.

When the first post was written "TK ALL Gold Mechs" the OP's position was not long in the making. Allow the (G) to be whatever color and retain its BONUS, so then it can be Gold, then Brown, then Blue, then Gold again.

I hope the never SELL Pink Mechs... :) "TK ALL PINK Mechs" posts will surely follow their arrival too.

Welcome to generation "Lose"!

Gee, you people are harsh, especially for something as benign as a change of color request. :)

Or do I detect a hint of envy? ;)

If you can not figure out why people are being harsh then their is a lack of common sense.

Who was talking about CS... The OP was talking about changing the color of his gold mech... That is a Art dept job as they need to rework the skin to accept tinting (can´t remember the exact name of it) and also decide if it will take one, two or three colours and how they will be placed.... That is a fairly substantial work when it need to be done to all the different gold skins. Hence my response to that...

Now one could argue to just use the existing skins... And that works unless the gold mechs use the same special geometry model as the clan pack prime versions.. If it does it then every single skin would have to be reworked. also costinga lot of time better spent elsewhere.

I'm so confused. The whole reason you paid 500 bucks was for the gold skin. Why would you want to change it?

Along with that gold-skinned mech, you also got the three normal variants that can do EXACTLY the same thing as the gold mech and they can change their skin. The invasion prime variant even has the same cbill bonus.

His request literally makes zero sense.

You can customize the gold mech. You can put any omni-pod on it to make it play however you want. And if you don't like the gold color on the Prime chassis, you can use the Prime chassis you ALSO got to put on specific colors.

This is the absolutely weirdest complaint I've seen on these forums...
