I really don't think it's worth bothering with.

That's worse than the Champion mech bonus if it doesn't stack...

The fundamental idea as far as I'm told is if you keep the stock omnipods for that variant, that you collect an XP bonus for doing that.

ok well that's crap then. That's a "bonus" I'm not really ok with when it comes to clans. IS mechs should get a bonus like this as well.

IS 'Mechs should get a bonus for keeping all the OmniPods of one of their variants? o_O
The Omnipod set bonus was more to mitigate the fact that not swapping pods on an OmniMech is supposed to mean that you've lost all aspects of 'Mech customization - you can't mess with the thing's engine or structural upgrades, nor do you get to take advantage of the extra flexibility of pod-swapping.
If you want stock IS 'Mechs to get an XP bonus though, then by all means, carry on! :-P

exactly, stock IS mechs should get a bonus. There's several stock mechs I would feel fine running around in.
that bonus is the only real "imbalance" I see with clans

That is actually less than my average XP/match, so it would save me one match during leveling.
Worthless.

I haven't considered taking a clan mech with stock pods since deliberetly for the "stock pod" bonus from the moment I seen the mechanic in the test server, things like an ecm arm or that 2nd ams on a summoner or more hardpoints is always a better option.

Well, it is an innovative PGI idea.

it's actually a bonus for running stock omnipods not full stock... so yes, you can run an Alpha Whale and get the bonus from having all stock omnipods on 2 of it's variants.
