I wonder if its just me and my video settings or not... but i realized that colors ingame tend to become darker and more pale compared to mechlab!!!
noticed it with nearly all colors (except black of course).

not a big deal... but considering the fact that you can not TRY the colors (ingame) before buying them... it kind of leads to you not getting what you expect.

???

It varies based on the map. Each map has a slightly different color filter (different suns, after all!) so everything looks different.

I used to have to play at low settings but with my new laptop I can run everything maxed out and there's a huge difference in colors and shades that I couldn't see before.

That's easy to explain.

One shot is outdoor and the other shot is indoor.

Yeah I noticed this as well, Try tourmaline desert and see, it seems to make everything the brightest.

I have AJ Cyan and it was pretty dull on maps like Caustic and Mordor.

I think you get the best "true" color on crimson straight and after that alpine. But it is still not the same. I have something like 6 different red colors by now but if you mix those up in a come, ingame it is more or less just red. Have to say, camo choice is a big influence, too.

It's just the engine, shaders, filters, etc. I will admit it could use some tweaking, it doesn't make sense that overall the colors are more vivid in a hanger where you would have more spotlight type lighting with hard shadows. While outside there is more ambient light which would should reveal more of the color.

IIRC, the lighting system you see in the mechlab is not the same system you see in-game. Something something three-light system something mechlab something something. Basically, the lighting engine is slightly tweaked to provide more "glamor" shots in the mechlab, while it's down to more efficient settings in-game.

Also, each map may have its own ambient color, which will further skew results.
