so 1pv and 3pv...does this means that some of you will play it now?? :)

i mean 3pv was one of the things which turned you all away...with that gone the only remaining thing are bad gfx i guess...

I don't know about anyone else, but for me that's actually a big point in the positive direction, so I might well try it out at some point. Not now though. I'll probably wait until it's far closer to finished.

The game looks a lot like what playing MechWarrior2 was like with the animations but the rest looks like Mechwarrior4.Cant wait to try it out the mechs remind me of a mech game called StarSeige2845 long ago fun game. Plus im a 3rd person/first person player so 3rd person done right is ok.

StarSiege2845 mech plus i think there mech to map scale is great.

I wont stop playing this but I wont be donating anymore either and if dark horizon does things right it's not gonna hurt your wallot at all will have a lot more content in a much shorter time. I doubt it will have mw0 numbers of players but who knows if enough people buy the game they just might start something big here.

BUTTHOLEDOG/ Can't wait for the complainers and the cryers to try to ruin THAT game too......

Its funny all forum users are stuck on a island and all our comments mean nothing to PGI so was it that unseen majority that cried and ruined this game? Or could it possibly be just the Devs made so many bad decisions they ruined it?

I feel the same way after all these failed promises I'm more than ready for a game that is pretty much the same thing but kicks this ones ass and it's a lot cheaper as well, way more weapons you can tinker with.

However I cant seem to purchase it so guess it's not ready for an official launch. When they let me purchase it and so far it looks like they plan on delivering...frankly any other company I feel like will deliver in less than a year compared to this game anymore I want this game to succeed in such a way that I no longer bother giving this company money I want the other game to win me over at this point, I'll give them a chance.

It should be purchasable later today. Their dev announced it was being released on the 22, and thats today

Well they cant let the news spread. Mwo's only trump card is that its the only mech game out there, lol. (don't mention hawken and titanfall, they are not mech games)

@CLUELESSSMURF:

Its also funny how so many posters confuse whining and digital screaming at the top of their lungs as some kind of reasoned debate from an undefeatable plateau, and how all other reasoned arguements that defeat their premise is ignored like a toddler sticking their fingers in their ears screaming IM RIGHT IM RIGHT I CANT HEAR U CUS IM RIGHT NAH NAH NAH!!!

Sorry if my paragraph rustled your jimmies, but if the shoe fits......

Not enough to go off yet.

The mech designs are kinda bleh.

But I do like how they're actually to scale with the maps. (In MWO all mechs are WAY too big - and if you go by the cubed to square ratio - there's WAY too big of a difference between them considering their tonnage differences.)

Their promises for future developments mean little to nothing to me.

Of note on the AI - it would take quite a bit to have competent AI driving mechs. It wouldn't take much to have AI driving tanks / choppers etc. to mix things up.

While this game is really not on MWO level, it is absolutely a good example of how slow and terribly bad at prioritizing things PGI is.

We can make fun as much as we want of the poor AI, and graphics, and whatever else. But the amount of features -that are not yet in MWO- that they've been able to squeeze into this pre-alpha with a team of about five people versus the 60+ of MWO should really make Russ and Bryan think.

PGI. I am sure they've always tried their best at everything, and I'm also sure there's a lot of stuff they didn't want to release half-assed (a mistake sometimes). But two years since unveiling MechWarrior Online there's still so many basic things missing, from training bots to in-game mech descriptions and lore, from Community Warfare to the Smurfy mechlab interface, from decals to in-client stats, from tutorials to a proper model viewer, from a decent amount of game modes and maps to any kind of size-reference/ruler... too many things to count that PGI didn't pay any attention to.

So, while Dark Horizons will probably fail under many aspects, it's only good that there's a new game now reminding them how "not so incredibly difficult" it is to just implement some freakin' basic features in your MechWarrior game. Too often PGI acted as if they were dealing with the most complex task in the universe, while a poor studio with a handful people can usually do lots of those things in a fraction of the time.

I think PGI "could" have developed things a whole lot faster if they werent so stuck on using the cryengine3. A engine designed for RPG's...

???????????????????????????????????????????????????? Whats this? I dont even...
Why is this so shocking? I get that MWO is a PvP game, if anything that makes it all the more interesting that I love it so.

He's one of those guys who prefer to play singleplayer games against bots.
While technically this is correct, not in the manner Vassago so derogatorily means it.

I don't think MWO would be improved by bots, for example, nor would I ever play Counterstrike or whatever other shooter in PvP mode against bots.

I just don't like that style of game at all. I hate MOBA's, shooters online, PvP in MMO's, all that stuff.

I never played any of the Mechwarrior games multiplayer, though I adored the single player campaigns. I love me some good interactive story.

I'm not an externally competitive person(I'm highly internally competitive, however). I enjoy playing coop games a lot and am really enjoying Divinity right now.

But PvP games? Play the same game over and over on a small selection of maps with no story at all? Just endless battle after battle? Filled with as***le fellow players who rant and whine in every match, blaming everyone but themselves for a loss and spewing senseless hate? Mmmm, that's some good environment there.

I honestly don't understand why I love MWO. I shouldn't. I don't like anything else that's vaguely similar.

Some AI creeps would be a fun addition to the game. Add them as an option to the gameplay types, so you can have each of the game modes with or without the creeps. Selectable as part of the premium options for private matches too.

Boom. Instantly double the number of game modes you have!

Options is all people want. And let us turn the options on and off as we please.

I still think linking options to premium time was a bad play.

This is where all other games are discussed. This is exactly where the topic belongs.

Star Citizen does the same thing. Discussions about other games go straight to off topic. You're tilting at windmills with a heart full of mock outrage.
