I am curious how this works. I have bought 2 clan mechs ala carte and was thinking about buying more. However, nice since I am looking at more going with a full collection just seems to make more sense.
What I am curious about though is what happens if the collection I want to purchase includes mechs I have already purchased ala carte? Do I get some sort of upgrade credit for them? Do I get two copies of that same mech? Do I just get screwed and get two less mechs in the collection?
Anyone know?

I can tell you exactly what happens. Send a ticket into support and inform them that you'd like to get a refund on your purchase because you want to buy one of the mech packages. They will then refund your money within the next working day.
Thats how it worked for me after i won a raffle my clan held. I then paid a few dollars on top to get the madcat collection.
Support was totally awesome about this.

Yeah I just sent support a message so we will see what they say. The only issue I see with what you are saying they did for you is that I have been playing my ala carte mechs for weeks now and have all kinds of upgrades and such on them. Not sure how they can refund my money without first removing those mechs from my garage but it is nice to know their may be an option.

Ahh yes, that may be a stumbling point. But support is pretty awesome and its more money for them in the end.

Should be pretty much the same. You're losing 1 thing and gaining the same.

You will get multiple copies of mechs you already own.
The Invasion models you cannot sell back. Those are the +30% C-bill generating mechs, and they're permanent.
The other ones you can sell for C-bills.
FYI, if you want to throw money at your problems there are C-bill packs in the in-game store. Do NOT buy them. You get much better rates if you buy a champion Cicada and turn around and sell it, or even better the mechs that go on sale, especially the champion mechs like the Jenner(C) or such.

Contact customer service.
They refund my prePTS a la carte purchases and then I purchased a pack.
This worked for me but it was before clans launched.

Yep - You will get any extra monies paid back to you. I don't think it will mess with your clan mechs you already have in your mech bays either.
I am having an issue myself being resolved and basically Support are unable to take mechs away from an account (once placed against an account) so if this is true then you just get any additional (non duplicate) mechs added once everything has been processed.
PGI Support definitely get my 10/10 in trying to do the right thing for players.
Cheers!

Me too. I upgraded my collection as well; they simply refunded my current collection so I could purchase the new one.
MWO Support is actually really top notch. Say what you will about PGI, in the years I've been playing I've never had anything other than a great experience with Support.

What they CAN do is lock your account between refunding your original purchase and your new purchase. So, you refund your Clan a'la Carte pack, they lock your account and leave the mechs there (the lock is so you can't play with the now unpaid mechs), then you buy the Pack you want, and they add the new mechs and unlock your account, and everyone is happy.
