I am not a new player. Actually been here since early closed Beta.

Long ago, when you wanted to purchase a battlemech you could click on the mech and look at it in the lab. For there you could se the stock build, but you could also determine where and what type of slots the mech has.

In the new "store", I just see a picture of the mechs and MC / CBill cost. No way to determine the slots or the build. Am I missing something, or how do I look at the mech to determine which I want to purchase next?

I can see this being an issue for new players as they wont know what they are getting. I buy in sets of 3, so its not that big a deal for me, but for new players not accustomed to BattleTech or MechWarrior, they may have no idea.

I dont want to go to Sarna, or Smurfy's, I want to see what I am buying in the showroom, the U2 interface. Can you do this?

Yes you can see the loads in the mech lab of TRIAL mechs, but what if the ones I want are not TRIAL Mechs?

Thanx for any help.

Hovering over the icon will show a pop-out with the mech's details. Also when you select the icon down in the very bottom right is a 'mech details' button. Click that and it'll switch to a smurfy style screen. Originally in UI2.0 those options weren't there in the Store, but I'm not sure if they've changed it (I don't use the store), so alternatively under mechlab there should be a drop-down tab that says 'owned', change it to 'purchasable' and you will have the displays I mentioned. Good luck :P

There is in the mechlab the purchasable filter. That works just like the regular mechlab. You can then see the mech details button if you click the mech.

Should that not ALSO be in the "Store"? I mean, if I am a new player and I want to spend all those CBills earned in my 1st 25 matches or if I want to drop some MC that I just spent really cash on, my first thought is go to the "Store".

I am used to it, but I have been around here a long time. A new player might get lucky, might get frustrated or might make the wrong purchase by accident / lack of knowledge, lack of instruction, you pick the reason.

I just want new players to stick around and to make things easier for them to spend their money, CBills and time here in MWO.

Thank you for the reply. It is appreciated and I hope some new players see this as well to make the visit more enjoyable.

Hi

Try changing the filter in the mechlab to purchasable then when you select the mech you should be able to look at the details on the right hand side

(I couldn't get the image to load right sorry)

Have fun see you around

The trick is to just not use the Store tab. Switching the mechlab from owned to purchasable gives you the deets on all the mechs available.

Should the store tab have mouse-over and mech details functionality like the mechlab? Yes, but that's a suggestion and not a question.

I think they may have added it to the Store a little while ago (not on my main pc to check), but if they haven't yet then they definitely need to, because you are completely right and most people will click the obvious Store button and not mess with filters.
