It ended up at Mr. Bigs... would love to go there with some folks from Denver/Springs some night... hahaha.

He was actually referring to the Biggs location. Mr. Biggs in the Springs recently closed down and their pods were sold to someone out of state (not sure who or where.) With the Denver pods having been in storage for almost 2 years now, that leaves a lot of us jonesing for some Mech action.

Sgt Hatred, mind if I ask what callsign you used at the Denver location? I'm a relatively new pilot there, but I played from back when they were at Jillian's up until they had to go into storage. I went by the callsign Wraith (which was unfortunately already taken on this forum when I signed up, so I had to go with my fallback callsign.)

Holy crap! The ugly one has surfaced! :)

Get back in your pod, booth babe! ;-)

As I've posted elsewhere, I was the SEC at the Wizards of the Coast Game Center in the late 90s, and am now the SEC at The Airlock in Kirkland which is owned by uglyman. I travelled to many tournaments around the country during the 4.x days, including Cincinatti, Denver, and New York City. I had a little over 2300 missions in 4.x in BT alone, and another 550 or so in RP.

Since uglyman opened The Airlock, I've added probably 1200 BT and 600 RP 5.x missions to that total. I did also have a few (<10) missions in 3.x in Walnut Creek way back in about '95, but those barely count in the grand scheme of things. That's where I got my callsign - assigned to me by one of the Walnut Creek techs after I made a comment about being road kill in my first mission due to the fact that there were many vets in the mission with me. And thus Roadkill was born.

I only played in the pods once a long time ago (only a few years, but I'm young so it feels like a long time :)), somewhere in Colorado, with my family. I crushed them as I was pretty much the only one that had played a mechwarrior game but it was pretty fun. I wanted to go again but oh well.

This may have been at D&B, but I'm not certain about that (however it is the most likely location)

The Colorado D&B pods moved to Jillian's, then Valhalla's, and finally Mr. Biggs in Littleton. They are currently in storage, pending ownership troubles.

The Springs' pods were bought by a gent in the military. Word is, he put the pods in storage and got deployed, but they were a mess before that.

It's a safe bet that Colorado won't be playing in the pods anytime soon. A relief, I'm sure, which is shared by many rivals. However, a handful of us are considering making a trek up to Seattle to teach you bums how to swing. :D

Yes, Wraith, I played at Jillian's as well. I was Cirex, Tyco, and finally Sgt. Hatred (a name I earned because I sound like Sgt. Hatred from Venture Bros. when I yell at people in matches). I vaguely remember you, but I'm terrible with names, so don't feel bad.

I stopped counting all my missions. I played fairly consistently over the course of several years. Got all the mission pins—Picard, Bell, and Tesla, too.

I played the pods at the D&B in Atlanta. Best 90 credits I spent!

Can anyone find out what happened to the Atl. D&B pods? I haven't been back there in years, but I doubt they still have them. :|

Headshot here from San Diego Virtual World. Played Battletech and Red Planet. Played on some great Battletech teams with Hunter. I am really busy these days with family and work, so I am going to play BT Online when I can. I do miss the ole Virtual World days....

Hiya Roadkill! It's good to see you around here. I had a lot of fun in the BT drops we did together back in the WotC center.

You guys came up to Costa Mesa and did my (Gideon) master trial. Hunter was the last master I killed before the time ran out to earn my pin. what ever happened to him anyways?

Are there any guilds yet made up of mainly old school mech pilots?

Howdy Gideon! I haven't talked to Hunter in years. I moved to West Va about 15 years ago and only make it back to Cali once a year now. I have no idea what he is into now. I have slowly been connecting with the old V World people on FaceBook. If I hear anything I will let you know.

This is Miguel. Used to go by mig on battletech 3025 and on mechwarrior4 online post microsoft server days. Going by Dankone now. I picked up the last 6 pods that virtualworld sold off when they liquidated their D&B locations. Flew out to San Antonio for the trip and had an awesome time with Mike and Adam out there. Nick, thanks for all the help with support back in the day. Anyway, I just wanted to say "hi", and I am very excited to be at the beginning of a new era of mech greatness. My next question: when do the pods come out for MWO? Is the game going to be ported to allow for pod design? It would be BAD *** to see new ONLINE play centers with pods. It was the end goal for battletech virtualworld centers. This would be the ultimate evolution of pod gaming.

Lord Rat here.
ex employee, Chicago, from opening to Telsa
I LOVED working there. The hours were torture but the co-workers and regulars were spectacular. The stories I got from there have stood me in good stead throughout the years.

ManMountianBob, Arioch and Fuzzy are going to my five year anniversary.

Ask Arioch if he remembers "Gideon" from the Costa Mesa Virtual World. You need to get him playing.

I started off playing at Navy Pier Chicago, then started back up at D&B Gold Coast Chicago when I found that the pods had moved there, and though my drive time to get a drop in is now (considerably) longer, I am still keeping it alive playing when I can at Big Kidz Games, the current adopted home of home the Chicago Pods combined with Ghosthawk's Michigan set. http://www.bigkidzgames.com/contact

Hey folks.

I played as "Wildman" at the San Diego VW center back in the day. I do remember you Headshot as well as Hunter, Ranger and others there. Haven't been in touch with a lot of that group in a while. Was hoping at least some of them would be playing this eventually. Lots of fun memories there.
