You get an F- minus at life.

Hang your head in shame.

Excuse me for wanting tactics instead of just looking straight at the enemy and firing.

You just flat out denied reality and now you're changing the subject.

Nice.

Hint: A map can give you the experience you describe without also being GIGANTIC and insanely boring for slower mechs.

How exactly did i deny reality or change the subject? Because i don't agree with you that maps are "mech hiking simulator maps"?
The game is 15 minutes on small maps! :D Most of the current maps are so small that it's almost impossible to flank the enemy, at least if they have any sense.
Also, my attention span isn't so short that i get bored walking for a few minutes...even in my 53kph Stalker. But then i was a BF player and was never interested in COD...which is basically what MWO has become.

Changing the spawn points would add some new life into old maps for the short term, at least while they finish developing the new map/maps they talked about in the DevLog.

Having teams start together does defeat the purpose of many aspects of the game and missions. River City or whatever its called is a good example.

As for bigger maps.... 90% of the maps aren't used as it is. The fights are always in the same place. Alpine is a great example. Run around that map in the trial and youll find a lot of better places to fight then that mountain. Or Terra... why go to the middle?? Stupid place to fight and defend.

For the short term however new spawn points would be a start, or make changes to the existing maps via water level (as mentioned by the Devs) or temperature changes. Make the HPG colder or HOTTER when facing sun side, remove some key buildings like the citadel in River City, or other imaginative terrain features. Surely some overhauling of existing maps would take far less time and development hours while we wait for new maps. Shake things up a bit and force the fight in other places.

Barring these things if the maps and locations are boring get your team to take the fight to a different place.

As long as the only objective is "kill the enemy" players will always just head straight towards each other, ignoring most of the map.

Because you stated something flatly false, and then you changed the subject to something else entirely

Right there.

Yeah some of the maps are too small for 12 v 12 (at least with the current spawn points- you shouldn't randomly spawn into danger like that.

That said, it isn't the walking for the few minutes; It's the walking for a few minutes in back-to-back matches, each time finding that you have arrived at the fight longer after the match has been decided, or getting abandoned by your teammates (which is GOING to happen in Pugs. It just is. You can't just throw your hands up, call it "a team problem", and ignore the frequency with which that scenario occurs) and being picked apart in a scenario that you easily could have survived rather than going down like a lone triceratops trapped in a tar pit.

I won't even bother dignifying the BF/CoD thing with anything more than a sneer.

Oh, and for the LRM whiners out there: Guess what happens when you randomly force SUPER SLOW MECHS to play on super huge maps? They start taking weapons that have the biggest chance of letting them do SOMETHING, *ANYTHING* to affect the battle.

If they don't have jump jets... well... let's just say that it's a lot easier to fire OVER a sheer cliff face on Alpine than it is to stomp all the way around it to a target that may or may not even been there (or may have gotten reinforcements) by the time you arrive.

Nope, nothing false (it's my opinion) and not a subject change (spawn points on maps, which involves map size).

I have a 53kph Stalker and haven't yet found that i get to the fight too late to have an influence on the match. But it is a team problem. If you're in a premade your lance would not (or at least shouldn't) abandon you. It's the same map but it's the team that is different. I have had it happen to me, just yesterday in fact, but it's not a common occurrence, at least not for me.
I'd rather not have the game design based on bad player behaviour.

lol nothing to dignify, it's how i see MWO.
CoD = small maps with players running around blasting each other...like MWO.
BF2/3 = Larger maps with players using tactics to kill each other and/or capture objectives.

I vote for random spawn points. Would be nice to wonder if some is behind you or around the side. As of now I know where everyo e is for the first 5 minutes. Or the option to let me drop anywhere I want be fun too.

YES, this thread.... A-gain.

un-freakin-believable. unless i drop with a 4 man, everytime i drop in a DW i get left behind very quickly and die a sad miserable death right off the start.
doesnt matter if i type "direwhale, wait up" which i shouldnt have to do btw...

my godamn ELO is too high and people at this level know where everyone spawns and they know that if your in a freaking slow ass whale your an easy target.

PGI!!~! as a customer who poured a bunch of money into your game, please take me and a whole bunch of other DW pilots seriously. please do something with the totally broke spawn points.
its just not logical to die so quickly by getting rushed, all because the enemy has intel on your spawn position before the match even begins.

i love this game!!! please please please please, i beg of youuuuu, please change the spawn poiiints.

the maps are all so warn out, everyone knows where everyone spawns, everyone knows where everyone's gonna move and all this could be fixed, the entire game can be revitalized by just making new spawn points.

so easy to do... so simple... so elegant... just.... CHANGE THE SPAWN POINTS! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!! CHANGE THEMMMMM >< !!!

(i got so enraged over this i think im balding)

so sorry about the rage.. but you gotta admit i got a point there...

Each team should ALWAYS spawn in the same grid.ALL 12 mechs spawn in one grid it's easy we had it like this before and it was great.

But..puggies didn't like it.Puggies didn't want to pilot their mechs for more than 20 seconds before shooting at the enemy (probably the reason why puggies shoot their guns off in the drop zone and friendly fire)

Puggies do not use lance configurations Puggies do not use formations puggies do not cover slower mechs they just DERP their way through the match. If all they do is DERP why should players who use formations and lance structure suffer for the puggies? Let them DERP with centralized drop zones and let organized player deploy from centralized drop zones.

Hell I don't care let the solo queue have whatever makes them happy just do not inflict this idiocy on players that know how moronic the current deployments are.

Sep -- When I say any content I mean any. What would you like to see?

Is disappointing that this game fails to only be a lobby shooter. Still its a good one.
