Hello,

Now I know that this is probable not considered a very good build for a dragon but I find it fun. I use the same wep load on my Cent which I enjoy a lot so I thought I would try it on my 1st heavy as well.

I was :( to see I could make is 98% heat efficient , with cool running it is impossible to over heat on a normal map and neat impossible on a hot one. Its wep load out is light on paper but as you do not have to worry about heat and can just blaze away constantly I find I get better numbers than with more weapons but less heat management.

any way just a fun mech I thought I would share , please let me know how much you hate it lol :)

I like the build, it's a well purposed set up, and lends itself well to hit and run tactics, smack them with the LPL, then rip stripped components with the LBX.

I would recommend upping the engine to an XL 325 at least. (for a 325, you only give up one DHS, and will have a heat efficiency of 93%)

By the way. That efficiency is for an Alpha. Your actual heat efficiency for firing the LPL alone is 135%. (becomes 129% when you upgrade to an XL 325) and 338% for the LBX. To maintain these outrageous levels of cooling, just make sure to wait 0.5 seconds between firing the weapons. Your alpha strikes will generate almost no heat anyways, so you're fine.

I bought a 5n(C) today and I REALLY wish you could fix 2 LBXs on it..

I started using LBX on my Flame.

i'll have to try this but since I have a XL300 on it i think i'll opt for 2 LPLs.

Imho, running a mech that can't overheat is a bad idea, because you're not using the mechs full potential. If you simply like the weapon loadout, I would at least change the mech design to this.

You still will probably never overheat, but you're a lot quicker.

5N is a notorious single-handed bandit, just try out 2ac2 + uac5 + 2ml on 300XL engine. It's quick enough and spamming shots just like those clan uac's.

That's almost identical to my build. It was also my first mech B)
I run an XL 340 instead, with an srm6 in the CT. I've never had problems overheating it moves at 101kp/h! It makes a great hit and run

Slight improvement. You'd never notice the difference except in Terra Therma or the Caldera. But there's a much better armor situation.

I know this isn't the same Dragon, but it shows I'm very proud of my Dragons.
It's a similar concept. LPL + AC/5 + 2 MGs. This is before quirks for Dragons and before hitbox reshaping.
