That happens sometimes and it is annoying, I made a suggestion a while ago to change the crosshair effect when it's on a teammate and that would help alleviate the issue a bit.

Had the same glitch happen to me twice. Both on Tera Therma and both times it was a mech with ECM cover on it.
First was a Timberwolf (ecm supplied from a Raven 3L)
Second was a kitfox (ECM on board)

had this happen a few times too
recently in a 12 man after just being a furball, i managed to survive, get away from the area to go look for more enemies and spot an unknown and shot him.The little Firestarter was a team mate and over comms he says "vettie, why are you shooting me?"
I explained the no triangle . looked like an enemy in ecm and apologized. just glad I didnt kill him AND that he didnt fire back, i was 1 shot away from dead...
Seen this a few times.
Tabbing to look at the score board does help bring the triangle back, but not always.

Yet another reason why you shouldn't shoot your own teammate even if he is shooting you.
Just a couple nights ago, I had 3-4 friendlies focus fire and damn near kill me before I could find some cover and start screaming, "Check Fire, Check Fire". I am assuming my IFF glitched because I can't think of any other reason for EVERYONE on my team to fire at me otherwise.
Also FF happens, people just need to get over it. The other day, I was lining up to finish off an enemy mech, start firing my long burn time clan Lasers, and my own teammate just walks right in front of me. I was like, "F**king *****" but just sucked it up, moved to the right a bit and walked past him. Suddenly I start taking fire from my left side and I am like, "WTF??" and I turn to engage only to see the same ***** firing at me. I sighed and turned away to get back to the game, when he alphas me yet again and cores me out. Then a message comes up, "You shouldn't have shot me, you got what you deserved". I was just in shock, this ***** walks into my beams and then decides to TK me because of it, what a joke.

This bug usually happens to me in the first minute of game, so I've learned to expect it. Sometimes a whole lance has no triangles/not visible on map. IDK how the hell the server can send the all the mech data (you can watch them walk around normally, it isn't lag) and then the game can forget that they need blue triangles.
