Dirt, plain and simple. Anyone who's had an old car, or just abuses it, well, dirt builds up. It's going to be a mess after a while, and it's just one of those little touches that can make it feel more... classic, I want to say. There is always going to be that 'pick-em up' truck/mech, it isn't going to be pretty, and it's going to become a mess. Space may be clean, but a lot of these worlds, and probably your mech bay, arent.

- 1-2 sticker place so everyone can chose from the ones posted above
- 1 place for small "toy": Hula girl, smal dog, miniatur mech, and so one
- (ingame/real life) Nation, Unit, Rank painting or tag next to the window (could be own unit decal as well later)

Well, I don't have time to read the entire 80-something pages of posts (apparently this is a pretty popular idea) but here's my 2 cents anyway...

First off, I've seen some really cool ideas, but I would like to mention that I would like anything implemented, even anything I suggest, to be OPTIONAL. Not only because some things might annoy some people, or even be offensive (pin-ups, plastic Jesus, etc.) but because it's not personalized if everyone has it.
Now on to my list:
1. Scratch/tally marks for kills, doesn't even have to be interactive/dynamic to reflect actual kills. Though that would be cool, it would very quickly become unrealistic due to limited real estate.
2. Drink holder with drink of choice. A few options would be cool; Beer, soda, water bottle, etc.
3. Pin-ups would be cool, either pre-set or user uploaded.
4. Faction related insignias.
5. Hanging disco ball

I also have an interesting idea based off a few requests I saw for the "used" look in cockpits with duct tape and patched-together controls etc. I think it would be interesting to have to pay a small sum of c-bills to clean that up. In various games like Saints Row (yes, I know they're totally different games, but the basic principle applies to this) you can pay to upgrade your various penthouses. It's totally aesthetic, but it's fun anyway, even if that money could be used on something that actually helps you.
It could even be set up that each time you're destroyed, you would go through various stages of dis-repair, forcing you to, if you were aesthetically inclined, to continue to pay to repair it. Though, if you didn't it would impose no penalties. I'm not sure what the economy will be like, but you always need a way to destroy money in these things, and I guarantee you the rich players would pay for little things like that.

I also think an in-game music player would be cool, but I recognize the technical and copyright hurdles implied there-in.

Where's the computer's voice? I would like to choose between voices of different attitudes and perhaps comments that suit the personalities from the great houses, Mercs or lone wolves. Choice of the voice gender as well as the "attitude" of the voice would make for interesting perks.

I can see cockpit accessories rapidly becoming like hats in TF2.... cunning move!

Lots of good ideas already, I'd to see:
Battletech minatures (or Superdeformed plushies!)
Signs such as "My other mech is Unseen"
Quick reference chart for your weapons (effective range, etc)
Cup holder with can of Powerthirst
