I never thought I'd see the day.*

*Edit: By that I meant mediums outnumbering assaults!

Simple fact is, the big assaults are simply to slow for the game modes we have.

There seems to be some flip flopping between heavy and assault. I believe it is because same players play both of them, just like me. I only play heavy or assault. If people see high percentage on heavy they will get their assault and vice versa. I've seen it go down like that, but interesting that mediums got so high. Thread worthy though would be if lights out numbered heavy/assault....

My bet is because the stormcrows are pretty sweet.

If you looked at the stats again about one minute into the future, the numbers would not be like that again. Occasionally you get a weird reading that shows people play lights/mediums, but everyone knows that is not true lol. Yesterday around 9pm EST lights were down to 4-6% for about an hour.

I've seen a wild variety:

-Assaults as recommended for a given queue (yes, even below lights);
-0% in both light and medium, with a 61/39 spread between heavy and assault;
-Rare moments of actual parity (saw one yesterday.)

I often see Mediums higher than assault (and sometimes lower than lights)...never higher than heavy though ;)

I look at them occasionally, but they never determine what mech i'm going to use :P

So close! And yeah I just find it funny to 'queue watch', I'm taking whatever Mechs I'm trying to master at the time.

And the sad thing is my search times in the solo queue feel no different regardless of which chassis I am in. Hell, when I'm in group queue, it actually seems like it takes longer when we drop with as a bunch of lights/mediums.

The lights have dominated the queue, this can't be allowed to happen! NERF NOW PG......oh wait, they're at 1%, all is fine.

Well, duh! You have to look at the percentages to know what mech to play. If you pick a light mech when there are less of them in the queue, you will get a match faster, because of the 3-3-3-3 rule used for matchmaking.

PS: Regardless of your choice, you may get a match pretty fast when matchmaker is forced to break the 3-3-3-3 rule, which happens... in pretty much every match. :)

group queue probably does take longer with lights and mediums because it has to match 1 for 1. and I also rarely notice a difference in the solo queue. maybe an extra 10-20 seconds in heavy but i am usually not paying that close attention anyway.

Despite it's vast bulk, the Banshee's camouflage allows it to go unnoticed at Mardi Gras.

So I take it you guys did not see the post where I think Nikolai said the % does not represent the number of mechs in that class... ;)

The % number is representing how long you will wait before joining i.e. 1%(5 seconds) wait time compared to 50% (4.1 minutes) wait time.

As you have probably seen there are plenty of light mechs in every game in PugLand. :)

Sure, but why do lights constantly have lower wait times than heavies? Is it because
A: There's more of them, or
B: There's less of them?

You (and PGI) can try to deflect the issue with "oh, but it's not actual numbers of 'mechs in the queue", but the bottom line is still that there's too few lights and mediums dropping, and too many heavies and assaults.

And the only ones who can change that is PGI, by making lights/mediums equally fun and rewarding to play as heavies/assaults.
