I came back from vacation and the Clan Pack has arrived which gave me something to work on.
Then I bought a Protector on sale and loaded a UAC5 and it doesn't double shot unless I tap the mouse key twice, unlike how it use to work or how the C-UAC5's currently work.
It's one thing to handicap the IS mechs and tech with statistics it's another thing to do it through the actual control mechanics.
This is just not right PGI.

Clan UACs work the same way, so it's not an IS handicap.

You can now choose to not use the Ultra function for jam free firing.
If you want to risk a jam for double the firepower, you have to tap twice. Same for IS and Clan UACs.

They changed some of the firing mechanics for UAC/5.
As for Clan UAC/5, there's a different method of action there: rather than fire 5-damage slugs, it fires a stream of four 1,25 damage slugs. The double-tap works the same way once you scrub this difference.

the 5's are fine its the 2's that were nerfed into complete worthlessness

They finally fixed them. They should have been this way from the start. They could be improved though with a dedicated ultra/normal toggle but seeing we still have no TAG, AMS, override, etc toggle I don't see that happening anytime soon.

I love the UAC5 where it is now. Just pace your clicks for Ultra and hold for standard AC operation.
