Why would you use adv sensor range?
Before, you actually had an incentive to stack it with bap, or forgo bap entirely, and save the 1.5t and 2 crit slots and use that for more ammo/ dhs. Bap plus adv. sensor range meant you could get locks with just LOS at ~750 meters. If you're in something like the GRF 3M/1N, or any other medium boating lrms on more than two hardpoints , it really made a difference if you weren't using artemis (which I don't, because in that weight range, you're better off with more ammo/dhs over large tube volume+artemis) Now, not so much.

It's a nerf to everything, from lights, to assaults. Everything that had more than 2 modules got sh1t on. Also a nerf to the variety of viable lrm builds, since adv sensor range and adv target decay are going to be all you have room for in most cases now. But hey, everybody can get the 2 slots to mount adv zoom and radar derp and proceed to poptart all day long, so problem solved, right?
I got 7 module slots on my fire starter now

people who pay attention.
Is there a friendly light harassing an assault 950m away? well then you bet I'm launching.
or is there an heavy 950m away out in the middle of the water on crimson? well then you bet I'm launching.

The point is, I know where they are at 750m, if I have LOS, and then can plan what I'm going to do accordingly. I don't like to launch at 750, but having the lock before hand is incredibly useful. It means you have the discretion to choose how and when to gamble with your lurms. Again, i roll without artemis on these builds, except the 1S, so I have the ammo to play around with. I play my GRFs as lrm harrassers and ideally operate around 500 meters and closer, and when you move at 90kph, you can afford a little bit of exposure to get your locks. Besides, you can't rely on puglets to hold lock on people.

I prefer that but some targets at 900 in the open are good enough for me.
Why would someone be out in the open? If I stood there and held my own los lock for six secs I'd be dead before they hit.

Why is it a waste I have killed a lot of people at 900m with lrms.?

If you're standing still while waiting for your lurms to hit, you're either doing it wrong or playing some sort of silly AWS/732 b4stard missile boat build, or are a STK lrm turret.

My favorite time in a lrm board is alpine is when I get on one side of the center there wait for them to start coming down to about 800m then I open up

Good times

By no means optimal, but it's fun for some.
