Bringing back a old old old suggestion
tired of that 4 eyed violet-green bird pooping on your glass and ruining your view?
or hold a grudge against a civilian punk who gives you the finger?

just shoot at the bird or throw the crunchie at a enemy mech
(if you are easily offended)

if they do add civilians
limit the gore like in mechwarrior 3 pirates moon
but not too gorey like the regular mechwarrior 3

besides there are certain planets that had situations were civilians became rebels
and some people whipped out the guns and things got unecessary

well there are a few problems:

Civillians

1: shooting civillians is not possible because well some states maybe ban the game and that means less Players less Players mean less money less money means MWO will not exist for long

2: you are a Mechwarrior there is no Honor in shooting civillians especially for Mechwarriors of House Kurita and Clanners

3: most of the population will be evacuated or waiting in Bunkers for the fighting to be over so its unlikely that you see someone running around

4: you are sitting in an 12meters high Warmachine for you People would look like Ants so nothing you will really pay attention to

bringing in Humans would only be good if you bring in Infantry but for that we would need also other things like Tanks Fighters etc. maybe PGI will oneday put such things in

Animals:

1: some Animals like birds or other small things would be nice making the Maps livelier but also remember point 4 that you actually see them is unlikely even in a Locust they would look really small,

3: and also there is the trouble with certain states they may cry "mimimimi Animal Abuse mimimimi" or "my 8 year old son is traumatized from the Death of such small litlle animals" yeah i know sounds stupid but hey that is something you maybe expect and trust me i as a german allready feeled some of the "Protect our Childern criers"
i mean why do you let your kids play an game thats 16+ but nvm thats things that can happen not funny and wont do us good

4: that all is something thats just nice to have atm the devs are more concerned with things like UI2.0, CW etc.

thats why it is unlikely that we will see such content soon if even ever

Turtle Bay,Kentaries
Solaris (accidental splash damage)

if they do add civilians
limit the gore like in mechassault and mechwarrior 3

the game should at least be 16+
little kids shouldn't playing

in 3050 if you are a pilot trapped in a giant sphere of warfare with all the star league gone to become crazed maniacs and to return to take back their "terra"

I say absolutely not. It would be a waste time and resources to implement and to maintain. No no no.

i don't think it would be a waste of time and resources
modeling and rigging don't really take a long time
unless depending on the detail

It just adds to the feeling that it is a "real world" when the only thing moving is not BattleMechs. Cars trying to get off the street, aniamls running away from moving Mechs, these would be cool. That and a Yeti that shows up once in a rare while on the snow maps.

I would like to see it. However, not as targets that can be destroyed.. Not because I`m a pacifist or anything, but simply because numerous countries would instantly ban the game (For ex. Germany)

So if an artist and coder want to work on them them in their free time, I`m all for it. But if it takes even half a second away from the bigger picture, I can most definitely live without.

there are a couple games that had civilians or living things attackable but i don't think that the games were banned
Mechassault 2 (no blood flying out just people running in the streets and getting stepped on and dissapearing)
Metalgear solid 4 (rated m so why not keep the gore to a minimum or no gore at all)
Mechwarrior 3 (dude just standing around like nothings happening unless a lrm does splash damage and makes him explode)
Mechassault (little crunchie infantry)

Yes. But when you consider that those games are 10+ years in teh past, and the last 10 years have seen media hysteria over school shootings move some societies to go so far as to have the agents in Half life replaced with robots, or the blood in cs be colored green (and the game still receiving the equivalent of an X rating, "no public advertising, absolutely no sales to minors")..... Or Animal rights BS surrounding games as stupid as Deer hunter or Moorhuhn....

Yeah, I think it`s safe to assume that shooting or stepping on, or hell even looking at an unarmed civilian or deer funny would create a shitstorm that will make us wish Yellowstone had erupted instead. ;)

Civilians and animals are definitely much desired by many players, - as voting here shows, - myself included. But me, i am generally against making either "squishable" (err, i meant "killable"). We ain't carmageddon here! :D

really - i can remember when they did add animals to World of Tanks.

So yes please add such stuff - just for the fun it will be to read the forum - all those black knights shouting and crying about nonsense and performance problems and no content and so much more.

Next to destructable buildings or terrain - it is not a enrichment - neighter in atmosphere nor in game play.

Althoug maybe destructable buildings may have some effect

this will also help on the future animations of the
clans intro like people running to shelters or the nearest bunker because it took the clans little trouble to land with their technology

That kinda hurts me, but than again I'm not like most 13 year olds. I would like to see at least animals implemented in the game so that you can tell the scale of your mech from that fox WAY down below your mech like in MW4.

its ok some parents let you play those games depending on maturity or just out of plain kindness
under 12 is considered a little kid to me
though i should change the age restriction recommendation
since i only recommended minor gore

I'm voting "No" .I just feel that by the time BattleMechs showed up all the animals and People would have fled and/or taken shelter.

Sure, most people would have. Vast majority. But there are always some idiots and some crazy and some military personnel which for various reasons are still around and can briefly be seen, i'd imagine. And animals, - why these would flee? Things which scare _all_ animals away are very few - a massive forest fire, perhaps an earthquake, or extremely loud and prolonged sound of some kind. Which one exactly is happening every time before battlemech arrival? In Mechwarrior4, departure of dropships is not very loud thing; so i'd assume arrival of a dropship is not that loud either...

Eventually, and after CW and all the core content, and other important content, has been completed, yes some indigenous fauna and civilian runners and moving vehicles would be fun.
I want to see combined arms in the form of tanks, vehicles, planes, drop ships, hover craft, and soldiers etc.. all with simple, server-side AIs that follow commands from the lance leader command console we will have in UI2.0 and beyond. They will of course be armed and defend or attack positions marked by the lance commander. Perhaps make them modules or expendable items that arrive with you on drop and get used up.
