I like Conquest, it has a tendency to spread the lances out and requires more thought than simply death matching. It removes the ability of either side to simply stand around playing peek-a-boo taking pot shots and throwing missiles at each other.

There is now a tiny little arrow next to the launch button. You have to click that to select your game mode.
The upshot is that it now saves your preference for the next time you play. It also eliminates a click from UI 2.0: The Clickening.

The other day the teams were circling each other and we weren't in a great position, but we were sort of near their base, just staying outside turret range. So I was like, "We could just cap." So we stomped their turrets and stepped on the base. Suddenly the fight was on our terms.

Conquest would pay out more if people understood that in that game mode, points pay more than kills.
Also, who cares about the c-bill payout, anyway? Why so eager to run the mech-mastering treadmill?
