Come on PGI. I love MechWarrior as a franchise. But when you are in a close game like I was a minute ago, 6-6 with 5 minutes to go, and then everything moves in place for 20 seconds on your screen, it completely kills the game for me. It is frustrating, and makes you feel like you have wasted your 15 minutes completely.

There are SO many things that you could be working on to improve MWO right now, but I think this needs to move to the very top.

Put Brian Buckton and every other engineer on the job on this. Lagging out for more than 1 second in a game hasn't ever happened to me before this last patch, and I joined in closed Beta. It is now happening every 2 to 3 games or so. I routinely play with 70-80 ping. These lag outs are god awful and rage inducing. Please work on this immediately. It is NOT FUN.

I have "country" DSL...and have never experienced this lag you speak of.

Granted, I also have a high-end machine.

I've had it a half dozen times since the patch. Generally, it looks like everyone is running in place, with the occasional rubberbanding.


When it stops, you'll generally be surrounded and taking fire from multiple hostiles. So, it seems to only affect the single person. It's happened in private matches as well as PUG matches.


It's annoying.

It happens to me 5-6 times a week since the patch on the 15th... and sometimes I never catch back up. I just get tired of waiting and quit the match only to find out my mech was out of the match before me. One time, my team was down 3-6 when I lagged out and never recovered, but somehow they won because the x2 xp was gone on my mech when I quit the match. Really wish I could have at least spectated the rest of that match...

I have good speed, good ping and a top end machine. I had NEVER seen this until the last patch and have now had it 4-5 times. It's a lousy way to have your first really good game in a Dire Wolf end. :rolleyes:

I know different folks with a wide range of pings and level of hardware are experiencing this same phenomenon. I just hope PGI is 1) aware and 2) looking for solutions.

If any moderator or heaven forbid Niko Snow should read this, some official comment would be appreciated.

They already "officially commented" on it. I believe it was in the patch notes. The lag is caused by simultaneous fire of large amounts of energy weapons and machine guns.

Since the last patch my Ping has gone from its normal 70 - 90 to as high as +700.
I've experienced the everyone is running in place games, rubberbanding off cliffs and being surrounded by the enemy.
I have my Clan Premium time activated, but if they can't get this under control with this next patch I'm going to ask them to suspend it until the game is playable again.

I don't think Support can do that, let alone allow that to happen.

Not only did they do exactly this for me when my daughter was born, they were very cool about it. PGI has some awesome GMs working for them. Contact support if the game is unplayable for you, I'm sure they'll help. GM Reppu is the boss.

I don't think all of them are the same though. While a certain few are OK, then there's those that... make one scratch their heads.

So is having to rejoin, only to find your 100% (ok 90%) healthy Mech down to 54%.

Happens at the worst moments for NO reason on my end.

It could be some problem with a non-pgi server that is something something technical stuff.
