Tournaments make me angry.
I'd just like to play some challenging matches.

To me a challenging match is one where you win without 12 kills, or the end result is more even than 12:4.

You start a tournament and I'm in a sea of 12:3 matches or worse.

I'd like to opt out of them

And since I play weekends, ad you run them weekends, they make me stop playing.

I don't think it would be hard to have a soft switch (not patched) option added to the public / private match options to go to a queue where you don't get the tournament.

You'd need a new game queue though.

As has been said before, matches that end in very uneven kill scores are usually matches where one team played aggressively and effectively rolled straight through the other team. Close matches that end with even scores are often a result of more careful and passive play.

Weekend events bring out the more aggressive tactics, and with the aggressive players out on the field, one wrong move can lead to a chain reaction which ends up getting a whole team wrecked.

Take this opportunity to analyse the situations and events that led up to a steamroll match and try to employ it in the future and see if it works. There's a lot you can learn if you keep your eyes and your ears open.

That said, I'm not pleased with how matchmaker handles things, and I can usually predict which team will win just by looking at the names on either side. It's something I hope PGI is willing to look into at some point, especially before a steam release.

Having just read through the Elo algo again, assuming that the PGI implementation is reasonably standard, the supposed 150 point variation in match assignment would lead to a win/loss likelihood variation of anything up to around 70:30 or 2.3 to1,on any individual match.

Not even counting that "I switch from my levelling mech to my good mech", assuming that could add 100 points, then swapping one of those into a team could potentially move the ratio to something like 90:10.

Which is why I originally said the Elo should be by chassis.

Dear PGI

Yet again you have manage to produce a tournament/challenge where I have 0 chance of completing it
(correction, the Premium time was great for the while 2.5 hours of use I got out of it)

While exposing me to vast quantities of annoyance and misery that make me HATE your game.

Every time I consider putting more money into your game, these CHANGE MY MIND.

Since I have no choice about the time slots I can play, I can either play and suffer, or leave.

Since I KNOW I can't get anything out of it.
PLEASE LET ME OPT OUT OF BEING INVOLVED WITHOUT LEAVING THE GME.
