So, I've recently purchased a trio of timberwolves and have been looking at the options concerning auto cannons. I noticed that clan standard ac's are more expensive than the UAC equivalent. What are the advantages/disadvantages of each and why the pricing difference? Thanks!

Clan regular autocannons are a pointless placeholder.Seriously. They fire exactly as Ultra Autocannons (stream of shells), the cost more and take one extra crit slot, and the only in game difference is they lack the option to fire twice.
There is absolutely no reason to use one, particularly now that UAC's only double fire (and thus risk jamming) when you tap the fire button. Hold it down, and they'll cycle and fire normally.
Its because the LBX autocannons are supposed to be able to switch ammo types and either fire a shotgun blast(lb-x style) or burst (UAC style), but they didn't get that in on time.... So instead they added another whole type of weapon and ammo, that's complete and utterly pointless.

What confused me was that I remember UAC's being much heavier and taking up more crit slots in MW2-4. The higher expense of the standard clan ac's in Mwo just don't make sense to me...

Yet another case of cheap implementation.

Clan ACs are a placeholder. As LB-Xs with shell rounds instead of cluster, they DO vary from the Ultras, but once the LB-X ammo switching is finally figured out, the C-AC is going to vanish.
Being LB-X with shell rounds instead of cluster, the C-AC/2 and /5 have longer range than the Ultra versions, and the C-AC/10 and /20 generate less heat per shot.

Also, the cAC don't jam - so if you find yourself having consistent bad luck with UACs, the AC *could* be worth considering. That's a decision you'll need to consider on your own though.

Nope. CUAC don't jam either unless you tap the button during cooldown. You can hold the fire button down to repeatedly fire on the regular cycle and never jam.
As such, the only way the CAC is actually "advantageous" that way is if either you've got a broken mouse button or are really, REALLY twitchy on your trigger fingers (and find the thought of double damage with chance of jam just that terrible)

Thanks Terciel1976 and Wintersdark! That answers my question.
