This.... this is really an interesting idea. It's similar to a student government association on most college campuses. We could definitely use something like this here.

Sorry bro but those player council-grand councils-ETC never end well most the time the players that are elected are by elite meta game groups and the poor solo or casual players get the shaft.I still remember all the grand councils in MW2-MW4 and they ended up power crazed people that banned players and whole groups from leagues because they had the power to do so and they thought it was funny.

They get drunk on power over the player base real quick so I say NO!!!! to one in MWO.I have seen this in WOW-EVE-STARWARS and many games bad idea on Gajins part.

While in principle, I agree, BUT I do not because there will be a segment of the player population that will not be able to help themselves.

I think the best way for PGI to implement a player feedback system would be an opt-in lottery. You opt-in to the feedback system on the forums, and every month or so PGI randomly selects a certain number of individuals in each Elo bracket to participate. This way, there are no power trips or popularity contests.

I don't care HOW they would choose (although I'd like to ensure that there's a good cross-section of players represented). Allow a few new player representatives, pug reps, group reps, "competitive" reps, and be done with it. I think it would work MUCH better than the rather useless CC and AtD formats. Have a weekly or bi-weekly session where the CM and a dev rep can discuss issues with the game

The devs are not required to listen to their reps, and they rarely do.

Review EVE's history.

That does not necessarily equate to being productive...or playing a lot...for that matter...

Eh, making a purchase does not make one worth listening to when it comes to matters of game design. A lot of Founders have absolutely horrible ideas.

no it doesn't, but in this particular case I'd be willing to put my "productive" post count against anyone else :D

sure I snark and I complain but I also praise and develop guides, start threads to help address some of the bigger problems in MWO, etc. so if that was a personal shot at me, challenge accepted lol

which is why you ahve a council, not a single player.

The best threads with the best feedback (which incidentally actually get some notice from the devs) are a cross-section of different types of players having an open discussion about how to find fixes that improve the game for EVERYone

And then you see something successful like eve online. Player ran councils can be great.
