Does this transfer to a mech if you end up buying it?

so if I got 2000XP using a trial mech then buy it do i have that 2000xp waiting?

Yes. So if you are thinking of buy a mech that has a trial version, make sure to at least get the daily bonus for it. Also, all of the trial mechs are Champions, so they get an XP boost, which is nice. I was able to Elite my Firestarter as soon as I bought it.

I'm not sure if this is true, to be honest. The reward screen after the match doesn't show any XP bonus. And Heros and Champs show the CBill and XP bonus separately somewhere. Might be a visual bug though.

But i can confirm that the XP reward earned will count for all mechs of the given variant you'll ever have. If you play a trial BJ-1 and later buy a BJ-1(C) AND a BJ-1 the pilot tree will be shared, and the XP from the trial can be spent once you own the variant.

actually, PGI should allow to skill any mech regardless if you own it or not. it would at least give f2p gamers a chance to level the trialmechs, which will mostlikely be just basic skills, sinc eits unlikely they will have the other variants too.

even if you have the a Mech the same variant as the trial mastered you do not have skills unlocked for the trial.

I was surprised to find that the Mech felt sluggish and I did not have Speed Tweak when I recently used the trial Spider, I have the exact same build on an owned Spider and was pleasantly surprised to find out I did not have an advantage when recently trying a trial spider only "Death Race" in a private match recently (I had warned people that I had mastered that Mech and was surprised when they considered that a non issue until I saw it myself

I don't think you get the XP bonus if you don't actually own the mech.
