Is anyone else having this problem since the last patch???
Since I patched the game whenever I want to go and play it most of the time it will come up with the 'Downloading Install Base...' message and will proceed to download 4.9Gb.
Sometimes, by waiting for it to download around 1GB and then TICKING the 'Download updates Automatically' tickbox on the launcher and restarting the launcher this will allow you to bypass the whole 'Downloading Install Base' nightmare the next time you start up and move on, otherwise...
Once you have sat for 1.5 hours again waiting for it to download and install the very same thing it did yesterday and the day before that and the day before that etc... you can get to the log-in page only to be presented with the 'Version Mismatch' error message!!
So you exit the program and restart hoping it is simply a new patch or client version that needs to be installed, again same message
You exit the program again through frustration and start again - same message
Exit, start again - same message
....
Exit start again - for some reason this time, although absolutely nothing has changed you are then allowed to play the game.
Bear in mind at this point it is almost 2 hours, if not longer, since you sat down to play it.
You decide to go ahead and play the game because you really like it, get into match, move to first location and then the screen freezes!!!
All actions can be heard, all keys appear to work (by the sounds of things) but nothing changes on the screen...
Alt-Tabbing doesnt work, all you can do is exit the match/game and rejoin again!!!
I have no idea what is happening with this game, it was fine before hand, didnt have a problem at all. It is getting to the point where I simply do not want to bother with it anymore.
Things I have tried:-
Repair Tool - Most of the time no changes even if I tick all the boxes and it takes yet another 20mins to carry out
Restart Game - Most of the time no change, although randomly for some strange reason it MAY work
Restart machine - No change
Uninstall/Delete program folders/delete all registry entries/Reinstall from scratch - No change
I have not touched my graphics drivers since the patch as I really do not see how they can affect a test from the launcher to see if the Install Base needs to be downloaded or if the client and server version match (I presume that is what 'Version Mismatch' relates to)
It seems that it is a random chance of luck that allows you to play the game nowadays and it IS NOT fun.
Someone please help me, I sing the praises of this game most of the time, even with the changes that work against me in-game, I have been a loyal player since year dot but this is pushing me to the edge!!

Jelly any answer to this, I'm experiencing exactly the same problem. I had this problem last week and decided to allow it to finish the update, for the last 7 days or so it has been fine, but today it is running the same update. I'll raise a ticket with the Devs.

I am getting this also.
I am speaking for two people that play MWO and have done since it launched had problems here and there but nothing like this.
Each time we launch the launcher it patches the whole game (downloading install base) then when its done we launch the game and it tells us there is a patch available and we close mwo and patch, then we launch after the patch and it tells us there is a patch available and we close and it starts (downloading install base) this just loops.
Now this is happening on 3 separate pcs 1 with an old previously working install, a new pc never had it installed before, and a recently installed working now not pc.
All 3 when you launch will try to patch the install base full game.
Here is the weird thing, if you close the launcher with out patching and re launch 4 out of 5 times it will tell you to patch the 5th it will launch let you in and play absolutely fine. There is not a thing wrong with the install. This works on all 3 pcs no fail. but closing and restarting the launcher over and over is a real real pain in the ... yea.
Just to note all have firewall rules, all have run as admin as default, i have checked ownership and permission on all files, tried fresh clean installs same each time, also run MWO repair tool nothing works other than just closing and relaunching the thing till it comes up play and lets you in without patching.

No unfortunately not, heard nothing at all.
I just simply have to keep on trying and eventually it will allow me to enter the game, but its frustrating as hell.
I have a hunch that we are simply going to have to 'deal with it' until the next patch comes out and then it may magically be 'fixed'.
I think there have been far too many bugs since the last patch, I am normally a guy that sucks it up and plays no matter what, even if I am losing due to changes in a patch, but when you get to the point of having to fight just to get the game going you start to lose serious interest and start looking at other alternatives.
I know what its like in the development side of things, and testing rarely, if ever, goes the same as Prod but still, this is a bit of a joke.
As Snaloe mentions you just need to keep on exiting the launcher, as it is updating, before trying again and it should eventually work, I find it is more reliable to allow the launcher to download some (500Mb +) of the ZIP file before exiting and trying again. Trying before it reaches any level below this seems to lower your chances drastically of it working the next time.
Just to update, if I look at the logs for the game all the Versions match therefore no need to see the Mismatch Version error. Also if you do stop the update half way through without it patching and it does start the game then as Snaloe mentions there cant be anything wrong with the files at all, so why is the client seeing an issue....
I am full admin, no Firewall, no proxies or any kind of iffy software, no AV installed or running.
As mentioned at the beginning of the thread nothing changed by the Patch and since that point in time I have COMPLETELY removed the game from my system and reinstalled only to face the same issues so this says to me it is something Server Side not Client side.
Please please please...... fix this PGI, or at least let us know you are looking at it, THINK you know the reason for it and are working on finding a fix and will include it in the next patch!!

There was a problem like this a couple of months back. It had something to do with a server-provider not updating the version number or whatever for certain regions of the globe ... you guys need to contact support, they might "remember" in more detail.
