I look back at how MechCommander did it. You had an EXTREMELY finite number of strikes per map. Right now, that number isn't really all that finite.

I'd think four 'strikes' per team would be about right. That would allow for tactical complexity without relying on off screen guns to do all your killing for you. But how would you enforce four strikes per team?

The problem is if more that 4 people brought strikes, not everyone can use them. There are those who have a problem with that.

...just a thought here. I know I'm crazy... but maybe only mechs that have TAG can designate strikes. Or maybe only scout mechs... that y'know... do spotting? Crazy, right? Role warfare, pssshaw.

This is probably the only change I would accept with regard to them.

I've played ~10k games since closed beta, endured all the crazy sheet of it's time - LRMgeddons, Gauss-cats, Boomcats/jaggers, PPC/LL/etc. boating and stuff, had some really bad games where I've made twice the damage my whole team did summed and etc. etc. etc.
But I never, ever, ever, ever, EVER called a player newbie/noob.
Shame on you pro-brah.
I hope the next time you drop in a game, after the 7th arty strike cored you, just when you take a turn around the corner you see my brawler TBR and glance upon it for the 0.2 secs of in-match life you'll have left.
I have a rule to never call people that... way... but when that happens I think i could brake it. Just once.

I think people mistake noob and newbie to mean the same thing. They are not the same thing:

Newbie: a new player.

Noob: A player who is bad, even though they have been playing this game for a while.
