You silly people. Battlemasters have never been about ballistics. Those ballistic slots are filled by machine guns. The BLR has always been an energy-with-a-side-of-missiles 'mech, with the few exceptions being missiles-with-a-side-of-energy. If you want a ballistic-primary assault 'mech go grab a Victor or a Banshee, or wait for a Mauler. This whining is ridiculous.

*Chuckle* Wow, epic sarcasm! :( B)

While the 50% heat reduction is interesting, I would actually prefer a 50% increase in heat exchange. That would be a huge benefit on cold maps! I recognize that it would make hot maps all the more difficult but the problem could be mitigated, if PGI ever rolls out map selection like they've said they would.

In the meantime, I am interested to see how the current quirk plays out...

I beg to differ. I use 1ERPPC and 2AC/5 on my 1G and 1ERPPC and 3AC/2 on my 1D. They do work well.

Moan moan moan....

Looks awesome, and its a bit different. I like the heat quirk. I'd rather have more cooling on the hottest maps than less cooling on the cold ones. If i didn't have clan mechs already i would buy it.

In fact i think i will buy it anyway because it looks badass.

Its the other way around. Tourmaline would be cooler, Frozen City would be hotter. The external environment temperature has less of an effect on this mech

Charcoal Legs; rather interesting top... It looks eccentric, it looks different; it has quirks that won't serve anyone in a too benefitting way, and it's not for everyone's tastes. Knowing the BLR chassis like the back of my hand:

- Most of the time your CT will be the one to go down first.
- Battlemaster has always been The Energy based mech powerhouse; that requires a ton of heat management even in the lore; not the UAC5 totting PPC combo mech. This loadout could be interesting, with certain tweaks...

I'm Sold!
- Now... Shut Up and Take My Money!!!

The painting just looks amazing! Which is motive enugh to get it.
The Battlemaster where always about energy weapons.... maybe with some machine gun so no whining there.
Love the insulation. Make the mech more stable beeing good and bad at the same time. No really win or lose here.
The best the name: sadly will not have a horn on it for each kill...no? will make it amazing then.

"Less environmental bonuses/penalties" is exactly correct.
So it builds up less heat from environmental heat sources, but doesn't lose as much heat to environmental cooling sources.

So, in other words, its heat performance will be more stable across the range of maps. An intriguing concept, to be sure. :(

Now people can feel the pain I felt when the Huggin was introduced. The only redeeming feature of most of the 'Hero' mechs is the 30% c-bill boost. Other than that, there are very few with good loadouts, most people transform them into something close to what they run in their other varients, and not use the unique hardpoints.

Huggin made you feel pain? It made me feel like if two Awesome collided and formed something better - only light capable to carry double UACs, it's the ultimate risk and reward mech! :(

I like the paint job. Will the 50% heat transfer, experiment, quirk, be implemented with other "hero" mech in the future?

Aww...I thought It said "Hellbringer". But it's good to see a Phoenix Hero Mech for once.

I love the hardpoints (energy on both arms, 3x torso missiles; I can see running 3x ASRM6, 2x LPL, a few MLs for backup), but I hate the paintjob.

You are beating the "We are not pay to win" drum to death by constantly releasing Hero mechs noone will play, and thus, you will get no pay.

I think you need to look at your stats and explore which hero mechs need love because I don't see that many on the field any more...partially due to clan tech, but seriously, the IS mechs I see aren't heros. I never use my Heavy Metal or my Flame any more.

I can almost hear the discontent among the Seraphim no profanity christian unit rumbling about another hell-themed mech. It would be cool though at some point to have a new mech in an arch angel or sword of heaven theme.

The quirk is an experiment for the external heat transfer module they are working on.

Source? common sense.

The metallic effects on that machine look amazing(in game)!
- Very nice!

It looks really great; like Piano Black color in its legs, that change depending on the map/light.

so...anyone else see an insta-death LT on this thing? One of the few things the BLR has going for it, generally, is a good hitbox layout. Every Time you equip torso missiles, that goes out the window.

GG, close.

Exactly my thoughts!
