I really wonder how the game will look on my flatscreen TV. I will have to buy a new computer to play since I gave up PC gaming about 10 years ago (coming back just for MWO), and I'm wondering if I have to buy a monitor or if I can just push the game via HDMI to the 50".

Console games might look great on the TV, but they were made for TV viewing. Never having tried a PC game on a large flat screen TV, I have no idea what the quality will be.

Anyone have an opinion? What am I thinking... of course you have an opinion...

Thanks Paul! That is exactly what I needed to hear. Looks like I have the chance to spend some extra on the PC... and maybe the rest on a legendary tag?

The game will probably look fine, but whenever I try to play computer games on a big TV it's really hit or miss on the text part. If it's a text heavy game, then it usually does not work so well unless you're set up a couple feet from the TV. Which is probably not a good idea for such big TVs.

Since MW:O is probably not text heavy, it should look great.

Anyone recommend a good brand that doesn't have problems with text? "double lines, rings arounds letters etc"

Also must use hdmi port NOT vga to pc port

HDMI is a must and if you can spot for it, go for a 120hz or higher.

Hopefully awesome, I would love love love it if Piranha added 3D support at some point so I could play on my 55" Samsung D8000. Only issue then is having a cord long enough to use Artemis in my living room.

Any word from the devs on this?

i´d reckon it´ll look fairly close to mwo on a 32" TV, just about 56% bigger.

My Toshiba 55G310U is pretty nice. I have had it for a while (and paid a lot more for it than you get get it for on Amazon now) and it works great as a monitor or as a TV.

A lot of the new TVs are nicer than most monitors. I just bought a new house and am torn on whether I should toss a nice TV in the basement and hook a new gaming rig to it. I think...I just might because Paul says they are doing it.

Also....now we know where all the development cost went. 50 inch TVs. :)

Lg models have some of the best response times on them, contrast is usually decent too.

I play most game on my LCD tv. Its only 44" (heh only)
They look amazing. There is some ghosting on high contract. But my tv is a 5 year old Samsung. Max refresh is 60hz.
Next upgrade I do TV wise. I'm going 120hz.

I play all my games on a 32" LG 1080 LCD paired with a GTX 560 ti, and games look fantastic. In fact, I do ALL my work on this TV too. I have a 22" monitor to the left of it which I'll put other windows on, but the important stuff goes on the 32". Word of Advice though, and this goes double for text:

Do NOT plug your HDTV into your computer and expect great results without putting a little work into it. Most TVs from my experience have the sharpness turned way up, along with a number of other tweaks that make cinema look great, but desktops look bad, and this causes your text to be difficult to read. You will want to go into your picture settings and play around some. If you don't adjust the picture settings, you're going to have a bad time. I find that a neutral sharpness is always best in relation to text, especially when using clearType.

Take just 2 minutes to play around with your picture settings, and you're going to have a good time.

50 inches ah ? Keyboard and mouse at least 18 inches away from screen.
Let me know how your neck feels mate after 15 minutes.

I'm on a 46" (laptop via HDMI) about 10 feet away and 1920x1080 makes everything extremely tiny. I have to turn it down to 1280x720 (or lower depending on the game) just to be able to read text or use a radar. The graphics look spectacular, though.

That's why you don't sit 18 inches away from such a large screen. Try playing on a 150 inch projector screen in 1080p (Not mine unfortunately :) ) . You tend to sit back a wee bit.

I tried to use my 52" 1080p TV but the resolution to physical size ratio just doesn't work for gaming.

30" Computer Monitor @ 2560x1600 is where its at.
