Perhaps you are familiar with this "new fashion", where a particular IP holder starts to branch off into other genres/worlds within the same fictional universe; AKA EVE (And those guys who made WoT to some degree).
From deep-space,ground combat with Infantry mercs with tanks/jets/bases, to now space dog-fighting between space fighters
--------------------
I don't think I saw an IP more deserving of a similar treatment.
I know we are far from seeing at least what was promised to already exist 2 years ago, but how probable for things like this to exist? http://www.sarna.net...28Battleship%29 (video game with that, is basically the pinnacle of my desires. EVE is not even close to that for me. I want ships out of damageable components and targeting. And how did that ship even perform in Battletech to begin with?! o_O)
I heard there are a lot of legal problems and suing going around Mechwarrior IP. People have to empty out on the temporary licenses to do something, and etc.
I am really enjoying Mechwarrior Online; however, I don't even see this game existing or at least progressing in 3 years. Not sure how true is that, but from my observation it is severely fading in popularity. + outrage from the fanbase.
So what is your take on that?
Space sims seem to get extreme spotlight atm, with Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, etc etc arriving.Do you, people with knowledge on space elements in this IP, think it is possible to make a similar adaptation? (not necessarily just by PGI, just question in general)
Can that "bandwagon" game be fun enough?
Probably never happening, but just want some food for thought.
