I think he means the PGI guys were trolling 'cos these forums are so apt to bursting into hyperbole and conspiracy theories. Also what's the hoss thing about? Ghostrider reference or something to do with horses? (My money is on horses)

i remember PPCs being slow so i don't care, i can live with that. But the laser thing was too drastic. And probably a gimmick i hope they reverse. With slow PPCs maybe they can un-nerf whackamole and let people jump high enough to clear short obstacles?

Conspiracy implies conspiring to have a certain outcome reached. I explained EXACTLY (even with a timelines of 2 days) how this would play out and why. I even called it for people jumping for joy when they removed the CERLL nerf thanking them for "listening".

If they had REALLY been listening, they wouldn't have made these changes in the first place and would have given honest and sincere consideration to the alternative ideas that WOULD have fixed FLD PPD high alphas, etc.

Instead they ignored it. Then they locked the feedback thread
then miraculously, after the removed the nerf of course, they reopened the feedback thread. Just because it's a conspiracy doesn't mean it's some sort of whacky theory....

What's funny is it wasn't needed. PPCs needed a kick in the sack for a long time. CERLLs needed dialed back - I'd still rather go with damage/range nerf and a small heat buff than the beam length increased but whatever. It's only useful for brawling or sniping now and far less useful for clan lights and mediums who, apparently, need to stick with missiles and CERMLs anyway I guess.

This stuff comes from trying to balance by numbers. Unless you know exactly what caused the numbers and what your changes will do - two things that are unknowable most times, if not all the time ... you get the rabbits in australia effect.

no it comes from PGI listening to their inner circle of buddies about how this game should be "balanced" so then it winds up being "balanced" for that little group. Which is exactly how you don't balance a game.

I don't care if they spoke with every single comp group out there. That's STILL only about 2% of the population.

I think more hardcore Mechwarrior fans pay large sums of money than casual CoD and Console gamer kids. this is just coming from conjecture but most of the people I ever see shelling out large sums of cash for MWO are because they've been decade old fans of this game or have purchased it since the first Mechwarrior on PC/console.

I think it's more of adapting the games based off of their damage metrics (which you can see in player stats) and just saw that the CERLL was doing a lot of damage. I'm not arguing that this was a good or bad decision. i'm just being logical.
