actualy i think im alittle off, give me a few more matches.

okay here

CERLL are not completely worthless for light mechs, 2 of them get you to about 60% heat

for mediums they are not useable

for heavies they are BARELY useable

for assaults they can still be used but the extra heat does hurt.

they do suck now overall

Seriously about to take a break from playing this game and am absolutely not spending any more $ as im sure ALOT of other people are.
I mean this is getting ridiculous with the nerf war. Change the name to Mech Assault if thats the game you want to make PGI.

Yeah, the ghost heat penalty for cERLL was f*cking insane.

I totally understand making it a higher skill weapon by increasing the burn time...but this was completely uncalled for.

I understand the need to balance...but it's never a good idea to make a weapon un-fun and frustrating to use in an attempt to "balance" it.

Paul likes it hot I guess. :)

Admittedly. As pro Balancing. Even I think ghost heat on 2 ERLLs is a bit much. Especially after increasing the ghost heat. They could have at least made firing 2 and incurring ghost heat a smaller increase in heat that still made it usable for long range attacks. With only a few points of extra heat, it might not stop them from firing 2, but at least reduce the number of attacks they get off over time.

2 sec beam is what really make CERLL useless

I'm also taking a break. There are enough real-world problems to be worried about; I'm tired of being frustrated over a computer game.

No...that's what makes it a higher skill weapon.

The ghost heat penalty just makes it annoying and not very fun to use.

Hell, I'd rather it be a 2.5 second beam duration than adding that ridiculous heat penalty.

Macros are your friend. Use them to create firing patterns that do not trigger ghost heat.

This isn't a solution, this is a workaround. And a hateful one at that. We shouldn't have to run macros to use stock builds like the Dire Wolf Prime.

And I think I pointed out some mech builds can't even do this without running out of weapon groups. Again, Dire Wolf Prime stock. Good luck, without mixing weapons you're going to need 7 weapon groups.

2.5 seconds would make them absolutely useless. especially vs IS mechs, a fast IS mech could show their face blast you for 30-40 pnts of damage and be gone before you even get 1 second burn on them.

OH wait that assume IS pilots actually MOVE AROUND and dont just sit there for the whole thing like alot tend to do now.

And that solves what exactly?

I'm not going to stay out in the open staring at you for 3.5 seconds with all 30ish points of CT armor on my Kit Fox. Clan lights are effectively dead. Too slow to hit and run, too few hardpoints to fight Jenners and Firestarters, now unable to swiftly snipe at long range.

Great job balancing. Lights and mediums that relied on a pair of ERLL are useless now, heavy and assault boats barely affected.

I knew I should have put the money towards the Elite Dangerous expansion pass instead of taking another risk on pgi.

......there was a problem with C-ERLLs to begin with?

Somewhere deep down below the earth's surface in a bunker locked with once-useful relics of the past, the C-ERLL begins gathering dust alongside its fellow Flamers and LBX ACs

I was mainly being facetious to demonstrate my dissatisfaction with this unwarranted heat penalty.

Basically saying that a longer burn time would be less frustrating than the heat penalty.

By using a macro to perform chain fire, you can spend more effort and brain power on staying on target and/or performing other activities. :)

They also could have adjusted the cool down time of the weapon as well instead of some of the other things.

This seems excessively heavy handed ... especially for a weapon that places such an emphasis on aiming skill (keeping the beam on a single location for the entire burn).

Have you actually tried to do this with an Adder? Face your target for 4 seconds? You get instantly cored by pinpoint damage.

Adder? Not yet. But I'm leveling mine this weekend. :)

Besides, if I am attacking a mech with a lighter one, I do not do it face to face. I prefer doing it from behind, preferably at a safe distance, and if so inclined, aiming for the legs to add insult to injury. ;)

There will be much rejoicing

do you meant 2 no ghost heat then 3rd is ghost heat? id be fine with that
but if you mean fire 3 CERLL before ghost heat ehhhh i never use more then 2 at a time i think 3 is pushing it.

and i wonder what the chances are of paul even knowing how displeased we are with the extreme nerf hammer. or if he has completely clocked out for the weekend.

Really bites my ass is that we are now stuck with these stats until NEXT WEEK. of course they couldnt do their testing this weekend since they have a sale!!!
