Actually, some of the other 'Mechs on the list confuse me more than the lack of Atlantes:

-Centurion and Cataphract-D are both Davion; and MWO has no FedCom.
-Trebuchet is certainly Marik; the Awesome, while common everywhere, is also most iconically Marik.
-Jenner is Kurita (though FRR has a good number.)

dang, I only have that cicada. But what's funny is the Griffin-3M is on the list.

It's also a pretty straightforward upgrade - and Steiner and Marik have most of the Griffin factories between them anyway, so it's justifiable.

if someone can do 20 kills in the locust 1V, they should get like 10 mech bays.

Do the 20 kills need to be achieved on only one of the mechs on the list, or any combination of them?

Look at this challenge a test for CW battles. You must pilot a specific mech from a list of approved mechs and achevive a specific objective, in this case kills. I wouldn't get wrapped up the specific mechs because those lists can be tuned as CW gets closer.

Looks like we're in for a Stalker LRM-pocalypse and ultra-meta happy ppc fun time this weekend moreso than we already have.

I don't usually complain, but, they go from giving you a whole free mech for 5 wins, to a simple mechbay for killing 20 mechs?
from 5 wins to 20 kills? What the heck?

Managed to get the 20 kills in the Victor brawler. That was brutal. Now to troll everyone with LRMs in the BLR-1S.

ETA: and the mechbay redeemed itself.

ETA2: and then I got Ace of Spades in the BLR-1S. Troll success.

Because ECM. And, if I recall, 'M' stands for Marik...ie, a Freeworld's League production line.

The M only stands for Marik if the mech was produced after the breakup of the Star League, before that the Free Worlds League did not exist as an independent state. Although, I believe that the Cicada was produced after the fall of the Star League. Also, the Free Worlds League was the largest producer and supplier of Mechs and parts.

why only the 6R of the Wolverines? What's wrong with the WVR-6K and WVR-7K?

The K suffix designates a House Kurita variant in this case. :D

Probably meant Champion.

Anyways, a quick analysis shows that you could master 10 chassis of those that are on sale.

I could probably do more analysis, but I choose not to. :D

It's not listed as an eligible mech, so no, I don't think it does. Hence my question earlier about why that was, but so far there's been no answer yet.

Yes! An excuse to buy the LCT-1E again! And an excuse to run ALL THE LOCUSTS! Well...except the 3M. It's okay, that one's overplayed anyway.
