Im thinking of buying an Elite pack but im wondering.....if normal F2P players get a Free mech at the start, if you buy the Elite, you get your choice of one founders mech right, BUT are you still entitled to claim a "Standard" mech?

Anyone read any word on this?

I haven't seen anything official... but I would Imagine you also get whatever non-founders get to start off with, it just wouldn't make sense otherwise.

I can't find the post but they stated that they will soon be detailing how the game handles new players. I'd imagine they'll explain it then.

Edit: here it is.

IIRC, they mention this somewhere in the first 25 pages of the 39 page post of Q&A from Founders Day launch.

Good question. It's interesting because they say the Elite pack is a $115 value, 20+80+15, where the 15 are counted for the Mech. But if everyone gets one for free, the first Mech itself isn't worth anything (disregarding the paintjob and C-Bill boost). Likewise, the Legendary pack's value would be $155, not $170.

What I can imagine is that, instead of picking a free Mech at account creation (which is what they have always made it sound like), you get a number of starting credits from which you can buy a Mech. That would also make sense because otherwise there is an economic incentive to pick the most expensive Mech for free.

Having a Founder's package will not block you from doing what every other player gets to do.

In one of the video's Russ is showing us how to use the mechlab and he has no mechs but 5 million credits and he buys his first mech so I think it will be the credit way, If this is true I will upgrade to legendary because 5 million can help outfit all of my founders mechs :)

There is a post somewhere with Russ explaining why they count the founders Mechs as being worth $15 .... I'll try to dig it up for ya, but I think it is in the Founders Q&A he did ....

I would imagine it would be like most games, we would recieve our starter Mechs as well as our Premium Mechs from our respective founders order. Premium Mechs are going to be our work horses, but the starter Mech will be a means to an end on achieving higher tier Mechs.

I like this idea. Something like this would be good, that way each and every player would have at least a few choices of starting mech. that can't be a bad thing.

From what I have seen this is correct
You can buy your first mech so you can get the one you want, up to 5 mill
Founders mechs are the only actual mech limits I have seen, just the 4 listed
Any package is a great boost since you get premium for a while for XP and credits plus what comes with the package

I may even buy another mech just for fun to give me 5
It will depend on how things go

I'll be grabbing an Awesome and a Dragon and set the remaining cash aside for when they release my Battlemaster. ;)
