I am always surprised to come to the forums and read all the this or that is OP posts when I think everything is mostly okay. However if past is any guide we will continue to get more nerfs to the things players find over-powered. The thing is that MWO is already not functioning like Battle-Tech describes and ascribes values too.

So what if MWO were to just stop nerfing and start giving the Mechs some bonus damage resistance based on their problems and effectiveness? All the Mechs would get buffed, but some more than others.

Like Light mechs might get bonus leg damage resistance as a group, and bonus CT damage resistance. Just a suggestion.

Then after the basic increased damage resistance is added, the Mechs would be evaluated by number and size of Hardpoints. Those with few Hardpoints would get some damage resistance per missing Hardpoint. Not much and depends on what the best Mech in that weight class can do, but in this way weakness in loadout options could be balanced by added toughness. This would give each Mech some individuality and character. MWO would have alot of added depth and scrappier Mechs.

In MW4 they did this (sort of) and the Mechs became known as scrappy in-fighters or stand-off blasters. If you played MW4 I am sure you remember how much extra damage a Bushwhacker could take. Or how you would take a Thor over a Mad Cat if the battle would be close range. Those mechs had a lot of individuality.

Think about it for the future.
