So last night I pull out my Victor with a Gauss and I'm assigning my weapons. Gauss is on the Right so button 2. Go out and hit button 2 to charge the gun and........ nothing!?!?!? Switch it back to button 1, charge and fire. Okay, fine. I'll move it to button 4. Click the button to charge...... Nothing!?!?!?!

It would only charge on buttons 1 and 3 on my mouse, not 2 or 4. All other weapons work fine on all buttons.

Anyone else notice something like this?

Alright, I'll field this one so everyone else can just hit that decocker and get back to t-zone training.

So here's the thing. First, you need to get out of WV. Charleston? Evacuate. Harts? Toss road flares over your shoulder as you ride off on your vintage Schwinn. Morgantown? Mogadishu mile it to the nearest non-Ohio border. Now that you've done that, check to make sure you aren't running some kind of faux-high elo gaming mouse with tons of cool macros. If that isn't the case you've got two options. Option one is to put that Gauss on mouse one (which is the most efficient for hand movement and thus the lowest drag). Option two (and the one I wholeheartedly support) is to step up to the steel ball lisa mouse master race.

This is possibly a mouse/mouse software issue:

1) What mouse are you using?
2) Does your mouse have it's own software?
3) Have you attempted to re-bind/macro the RMB?

Short answer to the actual question: No, I've never had a problem like that.

After checking to make sure you don't have any mouse macros running, as Reverend suggested between the piles of snark, also check your OS mouse settings to make sure you don't have some weird auto-double-click setting or something else unusual turned on. Was one of the buttons that didn't work actually a wheel? You might also want to turn down wheel sensitivity if so. If the problem is difficult to find, and you have some kind of fancy extra-settings mouse driver running, you might try just removing it and using the basic OS 4 button mouse driver.

Other weapons working, and Gauss not working, means your system is detecting the "click," but not the "hold." The problem is 100% on your end. I don't think there's much more we can do for you here. Good luck.

for K's asinine commentary: A family friendly community that doesn't cuss, but insults an entire State's worth of people. I think I'll stick to the more mature communities. Thanks anyway though.

For the others- Thanks. It's not a gaming mouse. Logitech M510 I think (at work at the moment). Two extra buttons over by the thumb. Plugged it in and it worked (no added drivers). No macros used (don't believe in cheating in a game, even if condoned by the makers). I'll check for auto-double-click and what not. Just doesn't make sense to me that it works for other weps, but not the charge for Gauss.

Logitech mice have a history of issues in this game (or possibly cryengine). If you do a google search you will get some hits.

Are you using setpoint? This seems to be the primary issue in most cases, and not the actual mouse itself.

Does weapons group 2 work with other weapons fine?
Did you check your bindings to make sure 2 is still set to your second mouse button?

Dbl check that it's not on chainfire as Mcgral18 said... I have had that mess me up on some things like tag lol.

Try plugging into a different usb port just in case it's something screwy with the driver or port?

Very odd issue to be sure...

Check your settings in your control panel and see if anything odd is set there maybe... no odd mode got set by mistake for accessibility or something did it?

I do have one additional tip:

Set any empty weapon groups to the gauss. You'll notice the 6 boxes around the crosshair correspond to the 6 weapon groups. If you have 3 set to the Gauss, you'll get a larger green flash (3 instead of only 1) around your crosshair when it's ready to fire.

Ever since they nerfed the sound, I like having that additional queue, it helps avoid missed shots.

Looks like you sorted it out. However, I will add that I've recently had problems getting my Gauss to charge up also. Only happens on the 1st match after launching the game, and only sporadically. Solution was to open the score screen or the battlegrid, then it magically starts working again. So far only the Gauss seems to be affected.

Only started happening after I got a Logitech G13, at which point I updated the Logitech gaming software to the latest version 8.55.137, one of which I assume is the culprit. I have been using a Logitech G700 for the past year with no issues prior.

West "By God" Virginia. There's another name for it but it's not fit for company.

If that happens again, try powering down your mech and see if its fixed when ya power back up...
I know it sounds weird, but it fixes the bug where friendlies don't show up on radar, and it also fixed a problem where someones hud didn't load proplery....

"Hello this is the Mech Tech Support Hotline...
Reboot your mech and call back in 5 minutes if it's still a problem.
Have a nice day!"

PS im running Logitech Software 8.40.83 and not having any issues.

I popped 4 Gauss Rifles on a Dire Wolf for ***** and Gigglez.. I could only fire two at a time. I assume by design? It will only carry 2 tons of ammo, so clearly not viable anyway.

Correct, one of their preemptive nerfs.

Tri Gauss Muromets was also affected.
