Mwo Challenges = Missions + Reward = Motivation

After the "Launch" (or letz say patchday) i started the Operation 24 Challenge.
"Challenge Complete!" - "Medalion Reward!" Then it hits me and i was thinking:
"Why we dont get more Challenges of kill X Assaults X Lights X Mediums X Heavys, call it Missions and get a reward?"
A usefull reward and not a useless medalion, letz say some mc for grind many rounds? (50 games 200 mc?)
I think more peoples would play activ if there where a mc reward at the end of the tunnel.

Update:
I did a little brainstorming how the missionsystem would work and suddenly a name pop up in my mind : Exploiters...
So, how to stop them of drop in games and run into a enemy horde-die-repeat?
First of all Mission Goals.
The system is able to track and count many datas like how many dmg - kills- assists and so on and so on. A fair mission goal would be kills+assists so u realy need to do something and help the team to get a assist or kill.
2nd line of defense: The repeatable missions only reset all 2 weeks on patchday. It looks like the challenges are not able to give u rewards on complete so u need to wait for patchday anyways. Also it gives pgi the ability to control how many mc a single person can get and it doesnt matter if u exploit it in 1 week. And we can also make play x matches mission because of the limit.
If u dont made it in time, dont worry. Only complete missions will reset on patchday and give out the reward.

Some MMOs already gives u a alternativ grindy way to get real money for the game like:
Star Trek Online - Dilithium - farming daily missions and get Dilithium Ore but! U need to convert them into Dilithium (only 8000 a day) and then sell it on the Dilithium market for real money. = veeeery grindy and complicated.
Marvel Heroes - Eternity Splinters - droping every 5 - 8 mins from Mobs - not so much grind and easy. U get new Heroes for some hundred Spliters or upgrade the Ultimate for one of your Heroes.... Ok its not realy "real money" because u can only get heroes and the upgrade for the spliters and no costumes.

Just to name 2 examples.

I would prefer a easy method like the mission rewards.
To be clear. This is not a cry for something for free. I already ordered Phoenix and Saber pack and would also buy a Clan Pack instant so i dont realy need the mc.
This is only a Suggestion. A easy method that can integrate into the existing System to attract, motivate and maintain players.

That's not the point of the missions, what most Original Mechwarrior and battletech players were looking for were specific mission objectives involving maps and combat against AI units or other players....

I know we have capture this or capture that or annihilate the enemy team missions, you also say kill so many lights and so forth, but they want something where it involves protecting an NPC Armored personel carrier thats brining the Prince to his capital, things like that..

Remember Mechwarrior 4? they had missions where you had to assault a small manor but not to destroy the manor, just clear out the enemy defenses... if you attacked the manor your payment was deducted heavily, hell... you sometimes even had to PAY THEM BACK... thats most players are asking for.

those missions your saying, are more like bounty hunter missions.... now a bounty system would be interesting, too many ECM users running about... maybe put a bounty on ECM equipment, so when a player is killed who has ECM equiped they lose more, or the player who kills an enemy without destroying his ECM components gets more for it... stuff like that.

We technically already have missions... Gather X resources and assault/defend base. I do not want mindless AI enemies. I much prefer the dynamics of playing against real people. More challenge, more fun.

What we really need to do is to start bugging them for details on Community Warfare. I think/hope/pray that all our answers are there....

Some want Ai some dont. Sure i want also to see missions like "protect convoy" or "(real) assault with base and turrets" but vs players not ais.
My suggestion was only a simple way to motivate players with what we already have. (Challenges=Missions)
Im dont playing activ anymore. I have Atlas-Cataphract-Catapult-4xHunchbacks-Raven on Master. And i only used the Founder Prem. Time for it. No mech i wanted to play was left so my motivation was dry. Only played some rounds to test patchchanges.
But then Operation 24 managed it to bring me back for 2 days. Its realy simple. Give the players something to reach and what that they realy want like mcs and activ players will rise.

From that point of view yes we have missions in each match but im talking about some bigger goals to reach for motivation. Letz say for 150 matches i should have enough mc for unlocking an non-single use camo ... only for example.
But yes CW is realy important for the future of mwo. Cw will show if mwo rise or falls. But until we get Cw, pgi can motivate players to play and kill some time between content drops with such grindy missions.

Wow I can't believe what I'm reading. Degalus is the one I agree with here. Many players want actual missions to do not this pvp make do crap. Yes I said crap, because capture the base/defend the base or kill everybody are really only match types not actual missions.

If you compare the content of this sandbox to previous Mechwarrior games than what we participate in are arena matches and they will never be missions regardless of how they are presented.

In a real mission you actually have to go do something and there are restrictions. You actually have to force yourself to think about how you are going to handle the mission not just follow a script. Admittedly even Macrosuck (microsoft) didn't get that one perfect, but they came much closer than this.

If I'm going to go and do something for Steiner I want to actually go to a Steiner targeted or controlled area to do it in. If I'm supposed to go and help defend a Steiner base I want to go to a real Steiner base not just recycle our maps. I am of course debating the idea of joining Clan Ghost Bear so I would also want to do clan related missions as well. Every mission needs someone giving you an overview of mission parameters and objectives as well as giving in mission updates on any changes that would affect how you proceed.

As for facing off against AI these days the AI's out there are getting much better, however, it would be just as acceptable for both sides of a war to hire people to fill what would be AI roles. That also means you could develop both offensive and defensive strategies in a mission.

After all we are not mindless globs of water behind controls that tell us what to do we have intelligence.

Good games look good sound good play good and work good on your system.

Great games work really well on your system, have great graphics, play really well and challenge your mind as well.

Challenge a players mind and they may not notice or care that they are grinding if grinding is necessary to obtain their goal.

Why am I the one posting statements like that has nobody else thought of this stuff?

Little late but still thx (my last post here was 24 September 2013) .
Currently we get sometimes "Events" that gives us some Gifts we like to have. Like free Mechbay or even a free Mech.
I liked the last one Steiner: Reactionary Tensions. Played my old Mechs again like my Awesome and Hunchback.
Also the Archievment System gives you Rewards now so its a little like i suggested.
I think they will add more Archievments to work on and make more Events with big Gifts.
Its not exactly what i suggested but its close.
I just hope they add some repeatable Archivements with some mc rewards.
And hey Faction Warfare will also add some Goals to reach.
Letz wait and see what we get.
